45.517843 -122.684804Worst salon in Portland. I went here a while back to have an updo done and received the worst service I have ever experienced at a salon. First, the stylist I had scheduled my updo with did not get her prior appointment done before I arrived. Apparently, the customer didn't like her updo so the stylist kept redoing it - cutting into my appointment time. Then, after an hour of waiting they finally said that the stylist I booked my appointment with didn't have time to do my hair so one of their apprentices was going to do my hair. She did an okay job but it came out halfway through the night. No one apologized for the poor service, not even the stylist I had booked my appointment with. They also charged me full price for the updo I had done by a stylist in training which was ridiculous. I will never go back to this salon again. Their service is terrible and they treat their customers like trash.
BEST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! LIKE WOW!!!!!!. I have seen just about everyone of the stylists here, and I am happy to say I enjoyed every single experience I have ever had there. From the moment I walked in smiling faces greet me, the gals that work the front desk are always chipper and eager to please, offering me a beverage, striking up good conversation. I never wait too long for the stylist I am scheduled to see,They always seem excited about thier work, offering up new ideas and solutions to help my problem hair!, all my hair worries are pushed aside now, they are awesome! I love this salon I wont every stray! great service, great prices, great atmosphere. If you get a chance see Colleen she is a delight!
tanya is awesome!. this is a great salon in every way! i love tanya! she has changed my hair in every way. when i first started going to her, i hated my hair... after a year of loyalty to her, i absolutely love my look. so worth every dime. make sure you have some extra time because she is a perfectionist.
good but expensive. I used to go here but I go to Toni and Guy now. It is a lot easier on my pocket book and just as good if not better!
Great hair everytime. After moving to Portland, I looked for a long time to find a stylist and hair colorist working in a salon that is trendy but not pretentious and where I didn't have to drive around and around looking for decent parking. After five years, I finally found the best stylist since I have moved here. My daughter, husband, and I all cherish our visits to Richard Herrera and in particular with Raegan. The salon is clean, relaxing, easy to get to and park. The folks at Richard Herrera are professional, accomodating, friendly, and take a real interest in you; something I have not found with other salons of their calibur. I would recommend Raegan to anyone; she does great trendy cuts, color, and phenominal brows. One more thing, if you can get a shampoo from Rose, you will think you are in heaven!
Great Cut, Great Color, Expensive. Tiffany is great...love my cut, and I actually found someone who didn't turn my hair that ugly brassy orange. I have brown hair with carmel and blond highlight...2.5 months later it still looks the same!!! The atmosphere is good; the reception desk is very friendly and they keep great records. Only complaint is the price...very expensive. Worth it??? Still deciding...
Fantastic (most the time!).
I went to Richard Herrera twenty years ago and he was as attentive, attractive, charming and warm then as he is now. I only stopped going because getting downtown can be a chore. Recently I went back because I had to go to court and I didn't want to look dowdy. Richard recommended dark hair (which really surprised me because I am 55) and he gave me a whole new stylish look.
I came back 6 weeks later..they keep nice records and I knew I'd get the same look again. Instead somehow my hair looks mahogany colored instead of dark chocolate and I didn't notice it until I got home. I really despise red hair on me so my plan is to call back and see what they will do to change it. The colorist was distracted, it was a Saturday and I was there for 2 hours. Somehow I have the feeling they will make this right. And even with this copper color I look 10 times better than when I went in.
I keep getting compliments. I saw Erika and got a fun, stylish cut. She spent nearly three hours on my hair, and while it wasn't cheap, it was worth it. I've gotten several compliments, which is always a boost. I think this is a great place for young professionals. You can expect to leave looking polished.
stylist just wanted to get off work. I was very disapointed, b/c I used to work for a spa and heard great things about Richard himself, so I had high expectations going in. I had the last apt of the evening, book randomnly. I wanted a fun, sexy haircut, but my hairdresser didn't seem to care about what I wanted, gave me a trim in 10 minutes and acted irritated, cutting my hair agressively, not looking at me, when I mentioned that I'd like it shorter (I tried to tell her that I actually wanted something more stylish, but she didn't seem open to talking about it. It seemed that she had decided that her Friday night was about to start and I was about infringe on it) All this for $50! I even tipped her b/c I was just in shock. She did make my hair very soft, which I appreciated. I was very disapointed.
Great!. I have been here three times so far and I inted to go back before the end of September. I have had my hair cut, dyed, styled, treated, and a unique updo AND makeup for prom. My friend got me hooked after one visit. They offer free drinks of tea, coffee, or soda. They have changing rooms to change out of a top and into a little cape to protect you from any spills. Everyone is nice and very skilled.
