I am so livid with Derek's shoe repair, I have made a point of loging in and filling out a profile, to make people aware. Derek, made alterations to my girlfriends $350 riding boots, (which were brand new/un worn) lowering the height. To be quite honest it's the worst job I have ever seen, the leather has been badly cut, nothing lines up, stitching is inconsistent, the boots are ruined . Frankly it looks like a 10 year old child made the alterations with a pair of scissors. I was so disgusted with the so called" work" and the fact my girlfiend had to pay $75 for Derek to ruin her boots. I went down there to complain and ask for a refund or some kind of explaination as to the poor craftsmanship...Derek, seemed to think that his work was good enough. I won't embarrass Derek by posting an image of the sub-standard work. Derek if you read this, its not about the money... you can keep that ..its the fact you can whole heartedly stand behind your poor workmanship and say its the best you can do. You went on to add you have been in the business for over 20 years. In all honesty, if thats what you've learnt in 20 years, you should be embarassed... I actually would put Minus stars if I could.

I'm not a vindictive person, but the service at this place makes me angry. I kept going back, thinking it would get better or they were just having a bad day. The shoe repairs are subpar, they don't bother to polish your shoes after they're fixed and I've heard more than once, "We can't fix that". I understand them trying to do right by the customer if a repair isn't going to last very long. But if the shoe is basically trash without the fix and I'm willing to pay, then why tell me no? The guys behind the counter are nice enough, but they have this laissez-faire attitude that is just maddening. Most notable example: I brought in a pair of shoes with a loose heel. The fellow who helped me said that he wasn't going to be able to tell if they could fix it until he took the shoe apart, but that they would call me in a couple of days if they couldn't fix it. I left my cell number. The pickup date he gave me was for two WEEKS out. They always want at least a week and a half, which is a long time to be without your shoes. But I digress. The two weeks pass and I drop in to pick them up. The same guy hunts around for my shoes for a while and then must have found them in a pile marked, "hopeless cases", because he says they were unable to fix them. I asked him about the phone call I was supposed to get and he just shrugged like a guilty fifteen year old and said, "Yeah...sorry 'bout that". I went back three more times for new heels and was never once happy with the results. They insist that you wait until after 4pm on the pickup date, and yet EVRY SINGLE TIME I go in to get my shoes, they make me wait another 15 minutes while they "finish things up". I swear I think they're doing the repair right then! Poor service, badly managed, no sense of urgency, "Take it or leave it" attitude. I choose to leave it.
Pros: They're open after 5pm, which is nice for us corporate types
Cons: Terrible service, no sense of urgency, poor quality repairs
