Editorial Review for The Uptown Billiards Club – by Anne Marie DiStefano
The Scene
From the climb up the carpeted stairway to the vista of immaculate pool tables, Uptown Billiards has the feel of a private gentlemen's club. There's even a cozy den with easy chairs and faux-bookcase wallpaper. The waitstaff is welcoming, catering to the normal northwest Portlander clientele--not pool sharks, earls or gangsters.
The Draw
Billiards is the main focus here and regulation-size tables available. Food and drink are affordable and well-presented. Expect fresh-juice cocktails and snacks like portobellos, grilled bread and fruit and cheese plates. Indulge in opulent drinks like the Beautiful (warm Courvoisier and Grand Marnier), or a single-malt scotch. The lengthy wine list ranges from reasonable to opulent, with Dom Perignon displayed prominently.

Please don't go here; it is my secret get away. Elegant but comfortable. Have never had a bad drink, food,or service.
Pros: Atmosphere, food, service
Cons: frequently closed for private parties-so have a back up plan for dinner

This is a great place to come if you are looking for a kick back place to shoot pool and even have a dinner with friends. The waitresses were very friendly and always there to help if you needed something. Their salads are amazing as well as their burgers. Since I am a non-smoker, if helps that they are a non-smoking environment. I would recommend this to all age groups who can attend.
Pros: Non Smoking and excellent service with spectacular food
Cons: Pool is a little spendy, but still worth it
