The Best In SE. This is the best jam on the East side for all your dishes up in the ChinaFood - it's unruly good. Technically Wong's Kitchen is more authentic, but it's over-priced and full of homo-erotic vibes and carpet cleaner scent.
Tasty and inexpensive. The food here is consistently good, the portions massive, and the service prompt and friendly. They are extremely generous with their portions here, so make sure not to go crazy ordering too many dishes if you are eating family style. The food is almost always fresh (we had one bad oyster experience) and the flavors are pretty authentic for Portland (doesn't compare to the food you get in SoCal but, heck, what can you do). I cannot believe the speed with which the food comes out of the kitchen; if you're hungry and don't want to wait long for good grub, this is the place to go. Every time we've eaten there, we've been helped by the same super friendly older lady; does she ever take a day off?!! Hands down, my favorite Chinese food take out place in Portland.
Very Fresh, great staff. OMs Hong Kong style is fabulous. I have been here 2 times now in the early evening, the second time was with a party of 4, one of whom is very descriminating when it comes to Orential food styles. We found the staff very attentive and willing to help with describing your choices or with your desire to customize a dish. Daily specials are many and the tanks of live seafood are well maintained (not fancy to look at, but to see eel, rock fish, shimp, crab, lobster, etc. ready to prepare to your liking is refreshing). The environment is simple and accomidating. It's nice to see family tables with lazy Susans to share dishes, and that group events are set up with pink linens and flowers. Staff checked in with us as often as needed, yet not so much as to bother us. When anyone at the table looked in their direction we were acknowledged, approached, and asked "May I help you with something?" Unless I miss my quess, I'd say most the staff are part of a family owned business. Very noteworthy is that next door is the OM Seafood Market where one can purchase your seafood. And finally, on your way in and as you exit, don't forget to pay your respects at the well kept Budda shrine. Enjoy.
Authentic Asian Style Seafood. Fantastic selection of seafood, particularly crab. Had a fantastic Hong Kong style deep fried crab and we watched our crab go from tank to kitchen fighting for it's life. Seafood shipments came in constantly while we dined verifying this indeed is fresh seafood at it's finest.
