What People Are Saying About Legin Restaurant

In Short – Children screech, dishes clank and waitresses call out their goods as they go from table to table. At peak times, the cavernous restaurant is packed, and a 20-minute wait is not uncommon. But it's worth it--the dim sum is arguably the best in town. Diners can get traditional favorites like perfectly tender shrimp or pork dumplings, sticky and sweet barbecue pork buns, crunchy spring rolls, slippery rice noodles and crisp-skinned roast duck.
Atrocious Food, Lackluster Service
by RedRiderPDX
The food as Legin is the most atrocious Chinese food I've had in years and years. I grew up in the SF Bay Area and regularly ate from a variety of established Chinese restaurants over the years. At its best, the food should be impeccably fresh, delicately seasoned and light, never greasy. Legin really missed on all marks with a group of 15. Every dish tasted noticably of grease. Old grease. We all left feeling heavy and bloated. There's no excuse for that kind of lazy behavior. There seemed to only be one server on duty for three large groups. I won't be going back. Don't waste your time.
- Pros: Ample parking????
- Cons: Grease, grease, grease
Supervisor is a nosepicker!
by rrichardsonzsd
The food was great, and service was wonderful and helpful UNTIL I HAD SEEN THE MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR PICK HIS NOSE OUT IN THE OPEN!! I paid the bill and left feeling very unsatisfyied.
then i wondered if he touched my food?
- Pros: hot dishes cooked and served at your table very freindly staff.
- Cons: did he wash his hands?
Dim sum is so-so
by emilybtownsend
Maybe it's because we sat in the smaller room, but we kept waiting and waiting for carts to go by, and then, when they did, we had to try hard to flag them down and give us some food. The stuff we did end up with was fine, but not better than fine, and there was very little variety. I asked about a couple of my favorite dim sum treats, and the waitress would say 'oh, that's coming'. An hour later we gave up and left. Not cheap either.
- Pros: No wait on a Sunday
- Cons: Food, variety, cost
