37 degree weather & 8 months pregnant...
by Necha23 at Citysearch
I'm 8 months pregnant and on level 3 bed rest. I had a Doctors appt. scheduled at 2:10 pm, i called the night before and was confirmed for a 1:30 pm pick up time. I waited patiently till about 1:45 pm outside. I called to see where the cab was and they told me that they arrived at my house at 1:45.... THAT WAS A BIG LIE.
They asked if i could call my doctors office to reschedule my appt for a later time so that they can get me a cab right away. They placed me on hold so that they could call the driver and ask where he was, they got back on the phone with me and said that there was mix up in the address and that the driver was right around the corner to wait outside. So i did for another 30 mins. still no show. I cancelled the ride and rescheduled my appt for another day.
This cab company is so flippin ridiculous. Never again will i use them.

We had a flight leaving PDX at 7:00 am, and called Broadway Cab at 4:30 to get a cab to the airport. (And YES I do realize that it would have been wise to reserve a cab in advance - but that is not the point here, so please read the entire review before commenting on my lack of planning skills.)
We realized that it was a busy weekend with Halloween coming up. However, the dispatchers ought to at least have been honest with us so that we could find another way to get to the airport. We were lied to several times by several different people when we called to check the status of our cab! One guy even told me that our cab was on its way and would be there in a couple of minutes. When I called back 10 minutes later, another guy told me that I had been misinformed and that they didn't even have a driver lined up for us yet.
I completely understand being busy and overwhelmed. But dispatchers need to tell you when you call that they have no idea how long it could take and that you might end up waiting for hours. I'd prefer to hear the truth, even if I don't like it, than sit on my porch for hours like a sucker because someone decided to tell me "your cab's on the way" to get me off the phone.
Take a lesson, Broadway: we finally called Radio Cab and they put us on hold while they checked availability, and they found a driver who could get to our place in 10 minutes. Now THAT is customer service.
If you want a negative experience use Broadway Cab!

If you want to start your vacation on a negative note then call Broadway cab.
My wife an I were going out of town on vacation and arranged a Broadway cab to take us to the airport. I arranged it two days in advance and called the night before to confirm the pickup. The dispatcher confirmed the pickup so we thought we were set.
At 3:30 am no cab showed up. We waited another 15 minutes, still no cab. I tried calling other cabs but the queue for calls was long.
So we finally decided to drive and pay the $80 to park in long term parking at the airport. The trip to and from the airport would have cost $40.
The excuse the dispatcher gave was that their computers were down. Are you kidding me! I don't believe it for a minute. I think they overbook and then pick and choose where to dispatch.
If you read the crap on their web site you would think they really care about service. They don't!
So beware of doing business with Broadway if you want to start your vacation on a positive note!
Never again

The nightmare started late one evening on East Burnside when two friends from out-of-town and I were approached by a drunk crack-head who made us fear for our lives. Fortunately, we'd called a cab a moment earlier. We thought the van that pulled up would be our salvation from a nerve-wracking situation. I'd given my name to the phone operator (it's of an eastern European ethnicity) and one of the first things our cabbie did was ask me about it. He asked if my family was from Europe and I responded yes, the former Yugoslavia. He then informed me that he was Russian in descent. While I know that Russians and Yugoslavs aren't always friendly, my family never made an issue of it and he was nice enough and we chatted about the similarity of the languages, etc. When he pulled up at my house, he read the meter as $15.60. Less than 5 seconds before, all three passengers witnessed it at $9.60. I asked, "are additional passengers $3 each?" as by that math, the fare would be $15.60. He responded "no, $2 each." (There is a sign on the window that reads "$1 additional passengers!") I then repeated to him "$15.60?" He pulled forward slightly, as if he would take off with us in the car and then replied, "No, $15 is enough." We were seriously creeped out by this so I stopped trying to argue, paid and we scrambled out of the car. While I suppose Broadway Cab gets credit for arriving so quickly, I will never feel comfortable getting in another one of their vehicles knowing it could be the same bigot creep who decides to rip off whoever he pleases to. I called customer service to request a refund and still have not received a response.
