Rude servers and sloppy conditions.
I had been going to Fong Chong for about 8 years or more. I take my family there about 1 to 2 times a month for the Dim Sum. My family has grown since we started going and my kids always love
picking out there own food.
Recently the restaurant has been looking dirty, the staff looks like they dont want to be there and I am really left wondering about the conditions in the back where the food is prepared.
My last visit there will actually be my LAST visit there. We got 4 waters for 6 people that never got refilled over the 30 min + we spent in there.. When we discovered the pork on one of the items was undercooked the server pushed it over towards us and said "no you eat" He also has started tossing things we didnt ask for in front of my kids without asking us. At the end when I was paying I noticed they wanted to charge for the undercooked meat and when I handed back the visa slip with no tip on it she put it right up by my face and said "no tip" I told her I wasnt planning to leave one as I was not happy with the service. She then put it back right in my face and said " no you tip...everybody tip, tip" It was obnoxious. If they have not spit in my food yet....I 'm not going back to test my luck. Its time to find another place for Dim Sum.…
Ok.....
I go to Fong Chong fairly often and really the only things that keeps me coming back are the BBQ steamed pork boa buns and their ginger chicken which are both very good.
However, the service is makes me wonder sometimes if it is worth it. There is one man there that ever time just manages to make me very offended though various means of rudeness. Unfornatly he speaks the best english and therefor tends to you ever time espeially when it comes to the bill.
The other servers, almost all being women very much have the mentality of a Chinese woman (imagine that?!). Having been to China, i can very much say that the customs are different and people simply are a bit more abrasive then we tend to be, which often comes off as rudeness. I would very much understand if people were offended by the servers, but I have managed to look past it and very much enjoy the food.
(sometimes i don't want to deal with it and get take out though)…
Walked In and Walked Out. We set out to eat dim sum here but when we walked in the place smelled so bad - like mold or something - that we walked out. Disappointed for sure but we found great dim sum down the street at House of Louie…
Terrible. My family has been going to this restaurant since before I was born and now it is ruined. We went today. The food was bad or burnt. The new owner has ruined this China town restaurant. My dad is feeling sick to his stomach.…
Pay attention on your bill. They charge more than what you ate!. I used to be one of the regulars to have lunch there. I and my friend went there to treat ourselves for dim-sum. We had 4 dim-sum dishes and one green been. The bill was over $ 27. I was wondering how it could be that much. What we fount out that one of serving people marked two dishes on the bill when she/he served one dish. So the bill was marked 5 dim-sum dishes served. More interestingly when I handed the bill to the cashier to pay it, she added one more item on my bill. When we questioned the bill, the cashier just corrected the bill and asked us to pay without apologizing. And this is not the first time she corrected the bill. I guess it is very unfortunate that guests have to pay more attention about how many served rather than how taste they were…
