In Short – This Old Town mainstay's slightly shabby and décor includes brown and orange vinyl booths and bucket swivel chairs. The daily dim sum lunch here draws Pearl District professionals and weekend diners. While its competitors may throw just about anything into a wonton wrapper, each dish here is distinct and flavorful. Two of the best dishes are the barbecued pork cookies and the sticky rice steamed in a giant lotus leaf.
Pay attention on your bill. They charge more than what you ate!

I used to be one of the regulars to have lunch there.
I and my friend went there to treat ourselves for dim-sum. We had 4 dim-sum dishes and one green been. The bill was over $ 27. I was wondering how it could be that much. What we fount out that one of serving people marked two dishes on the bill when she/he served one dish. So the bill was marked 5 dim-sum dishes served. More interestingly when I handed the bill to the cashier to pay it, she added one more item on my bill. When we questioned the bill, the cashier just corrected the bill and asked us to pay without apologizing. And this is not the first time she corrected the bill. I guess it is very unfortunate that guests have to pay more attention about how many served rather than how taste they were
It's no fluke!

This place is a gem.
Seriously.
My husband and I went back a second time so I could determine if this place was good, or if we had just caught the workers on a good day.
As it turns out, this place is GOOD!
Once again as we entered, we told to sit where we like as our water, tea and menus were brought to us. We promptly ordered our favorite dim sum and as we waited I looked around to examine the place again. There were more people this time, a few couples, a family or two and a few people eating alone.
Our dim sum was again hot and delicious. My husband's order this time was perfect and I even indulged in seconds.
A waiter or waitress was always nearby making sure we had food, water and tea.
And before the family left, the little toddler was offered a bag of toys so he could grab one.
Our price at the end was a little more expensive but here was our whole meal for $21; Char Sui Bai x2, Har Gow x2, Sui Mai x2, an order of rice and some tea (sorry if I misspelled anything!).
I still can't wait to go back! This is close to my school so this place is going to be my weekly lunch place.

Worst dim sum since Chung king frozen food

If this is the best dim sum in Portland,I respectfully suggest eating pizza,or any other finger food. Not one Asian in the restaurant at 11:00AM Sunday,it should have a warning, but we felt like dim sum .We order off the carts. Without exception, each dish was equally bad. In my life ,I never failed to finish dim sum.We left part of each dish.Specifically, the dim sum skins were thick, and tough. The fillings all tasted the same. For a foodie town,we need good dim sum....do not waste your time or money at this establishment
- Pros: none
- Cons: terrible dim sum
