Best Sushi in town. Gaya Gaya is by far the best sushi I have found in Portland. I will admit, I'm a sushi snob...I can't stand sushi trains and if I feel like I'm eating a piece of fish that's been sitting out for more then 10 min. it makes me gag. That being said, gaya gaya does look like a hole in the wall...but the sushi is INCREDIBLE. I love it. My favorite is the the Phily Tem and the Orgasmic Roll... (thats right Orgasmic roll...and it lives up to it's name!!) Don't let the look of building deter you...this place is where I take all my out of town guests and everyone has loved it.

BEST SUSHI!.
Gaya Gaya looks like a complete hole in the wall... but sometimes that's the place to find fantastic food!
Peter has been the owner and head chef at Gaya Gaya for years. He brings creative sauces and inventive roll combinations to this formerly very plain sushi restaurant.
Some of my favorites are the Mexican Roll (spicy crab!!) and the Dragon Deluxe (it looks like a dragon and is on fire!)
I noticed recently they offer 50% off their more expensive rolls, which makes them more affordable in this troubled economy. Thanks Peter!
These days Peter isn't always behind the bar, but he's trained his new staff well and they maintain high quality and always delicious sushi!
