Happily been coming here for years.. Me and my close group of friends try to hit this place at least twice a month and have never been disappointed. Sasha knows us by sight and name and remembers our favorite drinks and sides. AWESOME!! There is a HUGE variety of sushi, sashimi, udon as well as some stuff for non-sushi eaters. Sometimes there is a wait, and the waitstaff sometimes is runnin in all directions trying to accomodate everyone, but neither of those are anything drastic. The food has always tasted fresh and low cost to begin with, but Sat night they have "dollar plate" night. SAME food, just discounted. This place rocks and I give it 2 thumbs up.

NEVER BEEN DISAPOINTED IN 8 yrs!!!!!. I have been coming here for 8yrs and everytime it is soooo good. I've been to masu, mio, saburukos and the place on gladstone and i prefer ichiban. The quality seems just about as good as the high end places. I enjoy some dishes at ichiban more than the high end sushi joints. I've never been disapointed with ANYTHING not one single time and i've been here probably close to 100 times. Best sushi for the price by far and it is always consistent

Sushi without the pretention!. Unlike the sterile environs of many sushi places in Portland, Sushi Takahasi dishes up creative hand rolls and sashimi with flair and character. Fun place to take friends and grub for cheap!!

better sushi land than sushi land. Went on a Wednesday night and didn't have to wait to get a booth, but picking foods off the train by getting up and standing by the train feels a bit akward. The large electric train is cool, the whole place had a very trendy-by-accident feel to it. An angry Japanese woman kept coming out of the back to get orders for special items, which seemed funny and fun to watch. Sushi was at rock-bottom prices and we filled up very cheaply, but the fish didn't suffer from any discount. As we left, a large crowd began to que up to get seating...seems we got there at the right time!

best sushi joint in all of portland!. I've been eating sushi my entire life. Salmon sushi is my favorite food ever. For the price and quality and consistency of their salmon sushi, I consider Sushi Takahashi to be my favorite sushi restaraunt EVER! I've been to over 50 sushi places throughout Southern California, Portland, and Seattle. I've been here dozens of times and the salmon has been unbelievably consistent. Add to that the fact it's only $1.50 per order. Yeah!!

Their other sushi is also great. Others have told me they really love it. A friend calls the yakisoba best ever. The sushi goes around the bar on a model train set! Hole in the wall type of place but doesn't feel dirty or anything. Staff is young and hip and still very nice.

Can get busy on sat and wed nights because of discounts.

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
