OH THAT PRIME RIB!!!. The people that love a good meat & tater meals are in for a treat! Cheers NW is a cozy neighborhood watering hole tucked into the NW/Nob Hill neighborhood. On the corner of 19th & Quimby to be exact and super easy to find. From Pioneer Square to Cheers NW is less then 15 minutes by street car. If your pinching pennies, you can get off at the last stop in "fare-less square" and easily walk the remaining blocks. If your driving, they have their own parking lot behind the building. The bartenders at Cheers are very friendly. They are known for good stiff drinks as well as conversation. There is the gaming room in the back, where the gamblers try their luck. They have Keno as well as scratch-it's. A full Oregon lottery-powerball hook up. They do that crazy Karaoke on Wednesday nights. My best singing is done in the shower but it's fun to see them rockin out "Smoke on the water" by Deep Purple. The other half of Cheers NW is 9 booths and 4 or 5 tables for 2. The restaurant has a new chef in office and it shows. Some of the items Cheers NW is known for is the Tortilla (taco) soup & the Thursday prime rib special. Tortilla soup is served with a scoop of sour cream and corn tortillas chips to dip. Every daily special ($5.50) comes with the main item on special, choice of fries, soup or salad. Thursday's special is just that! I'm talking a phat slice of finely seasoned prime rib, baked tater, my choice of soup(the bean -n- bacon is good) or salad, all for $6.75! I have not found a better quality/quantity on prime rib in Portland. You just have to see for yourself. For your listening pleasure, they have a video jukebox w/touch screen search and a large selection of musical genres. I heard mostly classic rock, which I happen to like but there is so much more. The atmosphere has always been friendly and the conversation plentiful. Lots of regulars during the afternoon/evening. The women tending bar do a great job. It's a pleasure spending time at Cheers NW. A 4 star place.

Nice place. Cheers NW is a cozy environment with many smiling faces. Typically a "locals" bar, the place spices things up with Devotion on Wednesdays, and RTFM on Friday nights. The event nights include live dj's and a wild time for sure, packing the place. An outdoor patio is provided on event nights.

I reccommend this venue to anyone looking for something to do on any night.
