Best Skateboard shop I've ever seen!!!
by portlandvoice
The first time I walked into this shop I was blown away by the wall of boards! I've never seen such selection! From old school to new school, local to longboard, they have everything! It's not commercialized or anything, either. The same guy has worked there for like 20 years and is really helpful, Paul. They are really nice and helpful. They will give you free advice, fix things for free, and offer free used parts if you don't have the money. They really work with you and the staff is more knowledgeable about skateboards, skateparks, and the history of skateboards even! It is like my dream skateborad shop.
- Pros: Large selection, great staff, knowledgable resources, very friendly, central location.
- Cons: Pay to park downtown
The Oldest and largest Skateboard Shop in the North West
by howardweiner
Cal Skate Skateboards opened in 1976 in Downtown Portland. We have served the Skateboard Community and the community at large leading the effort to legilize skateboarding and the construction of public skateparks. Many people have been confused by the change of name of another local shop which started as RX Skates changed their name to Cal's Pharmacy in 1994. This shop has no relationship with us and our good name has been ripped. With that said we are now working on building the 2nd public skatepark with funding for 3 more in the next year. When completed Portland will have 19 public skateparks throughout the city thanks to the work of many folks. Take care and checkout our website at www.calsk8
Where's the shoes?
by skater2003
This is not the place to go for shoes. There is like no selection at all. Only vans or ipath. No thanks. Where's the emerica? and saviers? The people who work there are nice, but there's not a huge selection of trucks and wheels either. and the decks are super expensive too!
- Cons: Pay to park, No selection, Expensive
