This rating is for groomer named Terry
only:
Oh Urban Fauna why did you hire this lady???? I went to Urban Fauna for years, I love their low key yet detail oriented vibe. Stephanie the old groomer was amazing- as is Katie who is still working here- but beware of the new groomer Terry! She does not listen and will botch your poor pup. My Bichon Frise has a photo on file of what she should look like. The last time she was groomed here they shaved half way up her tail and left erratic looking tufts of long hair on her body. fooled me once shame on you. Then having a sense of loyalty i took my dog back here again today- asking for a slightly shorter cut but still in the Bichon Frise style and my dog came back shaved pink everywhere even her ear and little Afro are all gone. My dog looks like a schnauzer- or a Bichon terrier!? even in the event of hair mats this is NOT OK. fooled me twice shame on me.
Afraid I need to find a new groomer.
If you are using grooming here do yourself a favor and request Katie its worth the wait!…
My Doggy's Groomer.
I recently moved to Portland a few months ago and started scoping out dog grooming places. I have a mini schnauzer and he's a bit spoiled / nervous around new places. Therefore, I like to check the
places out before dropping my dog off at the groomer. Urban Fauna is lovely! It's an adorable boutique / day care / grooming hub for spoiled dogs! Needless to say my dog fit right in. The groomer is always extremely sweet, listens to my list of wants, is quick when I need to pick him up in a hurry and the price is dirt cheap.
I highly recommend!…
Love, Love, Love Urban Fauna. My dog has been going to day care at Urban Fauna since he was a puppy. He is so excited to go in, he runs to the desk where he is usually greeted with kisses (and treats). It is so nice to take your dog someplace that love him as much as we do. I would and have recomended this place to anyone who wants a convenient, fun and loving place for day care in downtown PDX.…
Not recommended.
We were interviewing different daycare facilities in the area.
You could tell the owner/staff we were speaking with did not trust our dog. She is shy (which is why we wanted to socialize her) and nervous; but has never snapped or bit at anybody. The owner had already made her decision though about our dog before she met her. Our dog looks like a mix between a shepherd and possibly an akita. This apparently was cause for distrust, even though a gigantic German shepherd came up and sniffed our dog while we were chatting; with no incident.
We got a bad vibe, and didn't feel the trust we need to leave our "kids" there. We did find another dog daycare facility in the Pearl though that has been GREAT with our dog. They are really a "star at the other place!…
