Best Facial & Massage in My Life. My husband and I were visiting family in Portland and I wanted to get pampered. I came across this business before we arrived but didn't think I could get an appointment while I was in town but the owner called me in Minnesota and had a space available.

I had my first Shiatsu massage (won't do Swedish ever again) and an amazing facial with the Hydra-Smooth Eye Treat add on. Marie is so knowledgeable and doesn't pressure you to purchase product at all. She's even been kind enough to answer questions I've had via e-mail.

I love the Pevonia and Eminence products I purchased and my skin feels amazing. I can't wait until my next trip to Portland for another appointment!

best facial in Portland. I guess I’m old school. I believe that caring for your skin now is more important then saving for face lifts and line fillers. In Los Angeles, I was a regular at Georgette Klinger. A facial at least every three months, always cleansing twice a day and using moisturizers. Moving to Portland, I searched for a new esthetician. Some were ok, some very …well, not what I was looking for. What a gem I have found at Acorn Organics! Marie is great and very knowledgeable. I love the results. My face is bright again. I researched the product lines she carries on line before I saw her and had an idea of my options and discussed them with her. I Love the line I chose.

The secret's out--this is an ideal spot to soothe the mind, body and spirit.. In Short
Northwest Portland is full of salons and spas, but Acorn's location is unlikely--in a low-profile office building away from the trendy shops and restaurants. The small location has just two treatment rooms, each decorated with fresh flowers. Treatment rooms are impeccably clean and stocked with plush robes. Owner Marie Swan Black performs many of the treatments and is a believer in treating the whole person, whether you're there for a skin or body treatment.

Best facial I've ever had... Having gone to many, many high-end spas in Europe and the states, I feel comfortable saying that Marie is among the top 2 estheticians I have ever seen (canyon ranch is the only other one which didn't leave me broken out and/or experiencing irritation). She is also amazing at eyebrow waxing--I've had several people comment on how perfect they are. I've been going to Acorn for several years now, and am sooo bummed that I'm moving to the east coast--if I could afford it, I'd bring her with me! :)

I prefer the clinical and utilitarian above the 'therapeutic/spa' aspects of a facial, and have found her to be great and thorough with extractions, while leaving your skin glowing and with little of the characteristic redness following many facials (the experience is therapeutic as well, it manages the perfect medium). I've had dates and photoshoots after, no problem--just comments on great skin.. my experience here has definitely trumped those with other top-rated PDX spas, where the emphasis has been more on the trappings than substance. I also appreciate that most of her products are natural or organic--and so does my skin. I'm glad I read that citysearch review which first convinced me to go here, when my other experiences had been so disappointing.

As an aside, I've never felt my presence unwelcome or that she was aloof.

The Best Wax Ever. She put me totally at ease during the waxing appointment. I've had a few other bikini and leg waxes but she worked very quickly and it was finished in no time. Her technique is excellent and she was very nice. I highly recommend.

Not worth it for waxing. I didn't find her to be very friendly. The only time she smiled was as she took my money. For how expensive she is, better waxing can be found elsewhere.

Skilled Therapist. I have been a regular at Acorn Body Care for three years now. After several auto accidents resulting in years of back pain, I had seen numerous massageand physical therapists. Out of all of them, Marie (Owner) is by far the most knowledgeable and skilled I've seen. Not only does she give great massages, but she really went out of her way to educate me about my body. She helped me with stretches and exercises, and even gave me a book on back pain to borrow. Marie has very high standards and takes pride in her business and it shows!

A wonderful experience!. As a client of Acorn Body Care for over 5 years, I have come to rely on my monthly massages for mental stress relief and muscle relief! The environment is soothing and comfortable. I always leave feeling much more relaxed and calm than when I came in. I've also enjoyed facials that have made my skin glow and I love the Pevonia moisturize cream to keep it looking great. Marie's expertise, versatility and warm spirit keep me coming back for more!

In a Professional's hands.. I know when I go to Marie for a skin treatment or massage she delivers 110% value. She uses top of the line products and is committed to being as knowlegeable and up to date on new products, treatments and techniques as possible. I always look forward to my appointment and I know I'm getting Portland's best.
