This exquisite little boutique is really well curated, and you can get Arcona face products and Comme des Garçons fragrances there too. Then go next door to Cacao and treat yourself to a drinking chocolate; just don't spill any on your new Isabel Marant sweater.
very rude owner!. Bought some pillowcases there. The girl working there was lovely. Now that I've met the owner I feel sorry for anyone who has to work there. The second time I went there, the owner glared at me when I asked her questions and was so incredibly rude to my girlfriend, I walked out and then told her that she was the rudest person I had ever met.
last time i stop in here. I was just in the shop today and the blond shop owner just starred me up and down - glaring at me and my boyfriend as we walked around the store so i went around the corner to fancis may to spend money where I felt comfortable shopping. I will avoid this store, although they have brands i like its not worth dealing with the store's vibe.
disappointed.
unfortunately, i had the same experience as the first reviewer. i was excited to learn this boutique carried one of my favorite clothing lines and was eager to check it out. upon entering i said hello, not really sure the lady working looked at me. i too was with my daughter, secured tightly in her stroller. i felt as though i was being watched like a hawk during my 3 minute visit. it was really uncomfortable and i left.
i guess when visiting this boutique, don't bring your children and hopefully your experience will be positive. i'm certain i won't return.
GREAT SHOP RUDE OWNER. i HAVE SHOPPED HERE FOR MANY YEARS..BUT YESTERDAY WAS IT FOR ME!!! THE BLOND, OWNER SPOKE VERY RUDELY TO ME. AND THAT WAS WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO PURCHASE TWO KERRY CASSILL PILLOWCASES! ($60)..I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN..I CAN BUY KERRY CASSILL'S TEXTILES FROM THEIR LAGUNA BEACH STORE OR ONLINE.
Women’s boutique attracts upscale audience to the West End.. This independent boutique calls out to a certain kind of shopper, the chic set for whom Acne denim and Arcona skincare products are not seen as splurges but rather every day essentials. Inside, style-savvy women hover before racks of clothing, flipping through the selection of sleek, sexy dresses, tailored jackets and slouchy, whisper-thin sweaters before heading to the dressing rooms in back.
Shocked!. I love Portland boutiques and especially admire our independent designers! So I was excited to stumble upon Odessa boutique. However, the blonde sales lady was RUDE RUDE RUDE! When I walked in I said hello to her, she looked me up and down, did not return the hello and looked away. WOW, interesting disposition! OK, my Odessa experience continues...I had my year old daughter with me. As I headed towards the shoes, she told me not to bring the stroller on the hardwoods...um, pardon me?!? Am I to leave my daughter unattended while I shop? I think not! By the way, this stroller has non-skid wheels. I stopped in aw and thought did she really make that statement. I turned around and walked out in disbelief! Can you believe this all happened in less than 5 minutes?!? SHAME ON THAT WICKED LADY! THE OWNER SHOULD SEND THIS LADY TO ETIQUETTE SCHOOL!
The most lovely, and winsome little boutique.... Odessa is truly the best clothing shop in Portland. The clothes are bewitching, unexpected and achingly beautiful. The sales staff has wonderful ideas about different ways of styling as well, which is really helpful, and Susan, the owner, is helpful and kind. Also, it smells amazing in there! If you are looking for something really special, and unique, Odessa is the place to go. Just delightful in everyway.
Beautiful store. I love the designers this beautiful little store carries and would love to shop here. Unfortunately, the two times I?ve gone in while visiting Portland, I have been so uncomfortable I have had to leave. After a polite hello I could feel eyes on me the entire time. There were a few things I would have loved to try on but didn?t want to stay. You have to make people more comfortable in a store this small. Love your store but can?t handle the glare.
Amazing clothes from New York and Los Angeles that almost no woman needs, but every woman wants..
In Short
Everyone deserves the luxury of buying an outfit that makes them feel beautiful. Odessa provides a mix of clothes that will do just that. With most of the clothes coming from New York and Los Angeles, the styles here are very current. Owner Susan Tompkins loves to help women find the perfect outfit, so don't be shy. Try on a pair of leather pants with some suede, step-in Pumas or a clingy, '70s-inspired paisley dress.
the only game in town. As a transplant from NYC, I suffered from acute fashion withdrawal- until I found Odessa. Stocked with my favorite label Mayle and other fashion must haves, I was able to satisfy my fashion cravings despite being far from any shopping mecca. I highly recommend this great shop- and I think the sales help is cool, knowledgeable and fun to be around.
