Love this place! Have been a regular for years..
Acapulco's has awesome food (my two faves is #2 nachos or jr torpedo burrito), incredible (and STRONG) margueritas and a great wait staff. My husband and I have been going here for YEARS! and before
that I went for even more years. Many many good memories at this place.
I highly recommend this restaurant!…
Too bad. Snobby wait staff. Slow service. Food not very good. Way over priced. Its too bad because this could be a great little place if they got rid of all the egos and worked on improving the quality of the food.. No one i know even goes there anymore and we all live near by.…
Ehh... Not So Much!....
After reading mixed reviews of this place I decided to see for myself if it was an adequate restaurant. I work in the area so it's always nice to find another place to go for lunch. So I went here
on a Monday early afternoon, I was greeted and handed a menu for a to-go order. Service seemed acceptable, decor was mediocre, sort of a cluttery theme.. Nonetheless, I was there for the food. I ordered a chicken enchilada with refried beans and spanish rice. I also got a side of chips and salsa. The wait for brief, my food was ready in about 7 minutes, suspiciously fast for a special order. The food was slightly above room temperature, and tasted very cheap. The beans were thick and looked old. The spanish rice had an odd seasoning and tasted very far from authentic. The worst part of all was the cheap cheap cheap chicken that they claimed was breast meat was nothing more than spongy fatty cheap chicken pieces that looked like something you would find in a frozen dinner. I have had better chicken at Mcdonalds for $2.00. Inside of my enchilada was traces of olives....?? Not sure if this was a part of the ingredients or if they just somehow sneaked into my food, it sure wasn't on the description in the menu. Yuck!
It is absurd that this restaurant is actually charging restaurant prices for food that is so cheap. I paid $12.00 alone for my plate of food, not to mention the $3.00 extra for the stale chips and salsa. Who would actually eat here and then come back a second time? I don't see what would bring anyone back here unless they are very desperate for food. This place reminds me of the hole in the wall cheap 24 hour mexican restaurants you could find on 82nd Ave. But at least at those 24 hour places they charge appropriate prices for the low quality of food.. Outside of that, I will never return nor will I suggest this to any of my hotel guests that come to our downtown hotel.…
Long time favorite!!. Don't get some of the reviews...? There is a parking lot behind the building and the food is anything but bland! Guess if you order a cheese quesadilla with refried beans it might be bland. This place has some of the best salsa around, waitresses are friendly and you can't find a stronger margarita if you tried. The house ones might not be great "quality" but they are great "quantity". Huge tequilla list if you want a better brand for a couple bucks more. I eat here at least twice a week and its always good. Definately not "authentic taco cart mexican" but then again, it doesn't claim to be. Great and affordable...in NW Portland - go figure.…
Decent American-Mexican food.
It's somewhat like a high-end Taco Bell, with a bar. Great staff, and the food has a good flavor, but is not in the style someone who has eaten in Ensenada or Mexico City would expect. The
margaritas are good (and generous!), and the chips and salsa are a great bonus. (The rice is better with some salsa blended in.)
They also have a good supply of commercial hot sauces available, and the portion sizes are great for the price. The only parking is on street, which is a problem for some. If you can walk a block you'll find enough though.
If you like Tequila, check out the bar. They have a very good selection, and keep the prices comparable to other places in NW Portland.…
