The Scene – The low-key atmosphere at this neighborhood brewpub is a refreshing change from the bevy of trendy shops and restaurants that line the rest of 23rd Avenue. Named after a bar in an old Mae West movie, the Lompoc has been crafting its own brews since the mid-nineties, and features a variety of ales and lagers with memorable names. The John Outhouse Special Bitter, for example, is an English-style beer, and tastes much better than it sounds. – – The Draw – The beautiful, vine-covered patio out back is reason enough to visit. One of my faves!

We generally do a lunch a NOL, and have yet to be disappointed. I always order fries dark and crispy -- and they are great! Burgers to order, excellent. And with no more smoking, air is breathable. And the beer?
That's the best part of dining here.
- Pros: Great Beer, solid pub grub
- Cons: Atmosphere might not what people like
Overcharged by rude staff. Twice.

Forget about it. I had gone to this place for ten years, but never again. The service was often lacking, but two consecutive trips where my change was not returned and the waiter acted like I was doing her a favor has made my decision for me. An email to the website received no response. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Try the Hawthorne St. Alehouse instead.
Excellent beer but worse service than Guantanamo Bay..

I've loved going to the Lompoc over the years. The food tends to be pretty good with emphasis on the soups but the real reason to go is really the beer, which is extremely delicious.
Be prepared for some atrocious service though. On a good night you'll just be treated poorly and ignored. If its bad they might get in a pissing match over something random or petty. I don't know what's going on at that place but its always been pretty rough and over billing is somewhat common though reluctantly corrected if you catch it.
More recently I went in there with a couple friends on Monday on which they have a special "Miser Monday" which is $2.50 pints all day, which I would normally recommend. However, our tab arrived tab with everything at full price. That's odd. The reason is was that apparently starting that Monday they decided that all the beers we ordered were exempt ? though there was no mention or note of this anywhere in the bar except for some scribbles on the chalkboard on the other side of the pub. The waitress was typically annoyed that we mentioned it and wouldn't budge on for some people but knocked some change off of the others. Ridiculous.
I won't be going back any time soon but I'll miss the beer.
- Pros: damn good beer
- Cons: Service is like the Spanish Inquisition
