Great Food, Authentic Service. I highly recommend one of the most delicious mexican restaurants on the westside. The portion size is great, the service is very authentic and sincere, and the food is second to none. I recommend their sweet tequila barbecue burrito with chips. The sweetness mixed with the spicy pork or chicken really is a nice complement to each other. The only cons I can think of are the wait at times and the bathrooms are not as cleanly as possible. Overall, I would not recommend any other mexican restaurant in the 23rd neighborhood over Pepino's

When it gets busy, they don't have enough staff on hand to keep the place looking sanitary. Tables/floors are dirty. The salsa is regularly all out.

The bathroom is a joke. It looks like a 3rd world country bathroom that needs a lot of work.

Outside of that, the food is amazing, especially the Sweet Tequila and Thai burritos.

Literally my favorite Mexican restaurant ever. I first went to Pepino's for lunch on a Friday. I was shocked at how cheap my lunch was (7 bucks for drink and a combo meal! that is unheard of in most areas), how much food they served you (I could barely finish the two chicken tacos), and how good the food tasted! The guacamole is fresh, the chicken is perfectly grilled, the refried beans are delicious, and the chips are AMAZING!

So after eating here, I make sure to drag everyone here at least once. Everyone I've brought agrees with me; this is the best Mexican food in Portland. If you eat here, you will not regret it...and neither will your pocketbook!

Wonderful. Anytime I'm in Portland, I take a friend here and they all keep coming back after they try the sweet tequila tofu burrito. Literally every single time. I think that put magic in the delicious thing.

HUGE portions and a great value...and tasty too.. This place is great. You can watch them make your food because the food prep area is out in front. The salsa bar is generous and fresh. The chicken is always roasting on roasting spits where you can see them and the portions are HUGE!!!! Everything is fresh and not sitting out in warmers. They heat the tortillas on a hot flat stove and the sweet taquilla burittos and chicken tortilla soup are the OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! Lots of seating, indoors and outside and they have rear patio seating too.

Great Price and Quality Food.. Awesome Place. One of THE best places I have been to. I too have been a customer for over 3 years and have taken many friends to both locations. 9 out of 10 people love this place and come back for more. One of the main reasons I like Pepinos, is that the serice is quick. This place is not fast food. They cook everything in front of you very quickly. The taste is out of this world. Price? very reasonable. I give this place an A+.

We're not in Mexico. "Authentic" Mexican food is boring to my palate. I LOVE the Sweet Tequila burrito that Pepinos offers. And I too have been a client since the Una Mas days. Enough of the faux "critic"; this is great Mexican food!

Maybe not the best Mexican food, but it is GOOD FOOD nonetheless.... I am not about to defend Pepino's as a "great" Mexican restaurant, nor authentic. When we want to "go out for Mexican," Pepino's is not on our list. You want real Mexican food? Go to the wonderful carts downtown. However, if you want to satiate your growling stomach with some yummm whilst on 23rd, try Pepino's. I don't see how you could go wrong. I love Pepino's for what it is--the food here is simple, fresh, fast, and cheap--and I have been a steady patron since the days of Una Mas. The best on a budget: modify your $3 El Cheapo for only pocket change more. As the previous reviewer noted, nothing here is spicy; I myself am a lover of the burning mouth, but still their medium salsa is one of my favorites. This is good food when you need it fast, and I've never walked away less than stuffed, never been disappointed yet. Go elsewhere for real Mexican, but try Pepino's for good dollar and meal value.

Worst Mexican food ever! BOOOOO!. Nothing there is spicy at all, not even their hottest of hot sauces. It kind of defeats the purpose of eating Mexican food when it's not hot at all. I suppose if you are recovering from a stomach ulcer it would be okay.

Mid-level Mexican food. Not bad, but not great, either. The chips and salsa were quite good, but the vegetarian burrito I had was a bit on the bland side (as was the service, but maybe she was just having an off day).

It's prices are really good, especially for the pricey neighborhood it's in.

Una Mas is worth trying, but perhaps not returning to.
