Editorial Review for Portland Brewing Company – by Rachel Bellacera

In Short
The warmly toned walls, shiny copper brewing vats and high-energy atmosphere feel inviting and familiar in this industrial neighborhood. Good beer, above-average pub food, and laid-back service make it a local favorite. The fare here is more serious than what you'd expect from a pub, ranging from blackened prime rib salad burgers topped wiht blue cheese and bacon. The house ales are a treat--try the rich BlackWatch Cream Porter or the refreshing Highlander Pale Ale.

Where to Sit

A large outdoor patio is a summer favorite for lounging and ale sampling. A fireplace keeps the area toasty after dark.

Fantastic food and service on numerous visits over the last 3 years. Try the Pork Loin or Pot Roast and mashed potatoes - covered with a fresh Demi-Glace, NOT powdered gravy like you get at other places. Prime Rib, Oysters also great. Always a great meal, we've tried many items on the menu. Food selection and quality WAY above most pub-style restaurants. Outdoor seating nice, indoor seating a bit crowded.

Pros: Amazing Food, Good Beers, Great service

A Northwest brewpub relaxed enough to accommodate both families and the after-work crowd.  See the full editorial review.
