One of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I've been going here for years and I don't have a single complaint. The food, from the sushi to the noodles (particularly the yakisoba, which I crave all the time) is well prepared, fresh and delicious, and the staff is fantastic, always friendly and personable. They don't even complain when we have a few too many saki bombs. Take some friends and go eat here!…

Good Food, Good People, and Good Price. I'm quite fastidious about what I eat, especially fish. I've been to lots of sushi restaurant, and Umenoki became one of my favorite restaurants after I tried their Sashimi. I see a comments down there saying about their lack of freshness.

I don't belive that at all.

As a customer who's been there more than 50 times, i think they should be known as one of a "Fresh" sushi restaurants.

plain and crappy service. I had a craving for "Don Katsu", and thought it can not go wrong no matter which Japanese restaurant I go to. I guess I was wrong. I ordered from the dinner manu and the meat was the only thing on the dinner plate. The salad and miso soup came with it, but the soup was cold, and the salad was watery and the dressing was extramingly plain. The portion was good but when you only have the meat and rice, it gets boring after the 3rd strip, especially when the meat was very dry. The price was acceptable, but not worthwhile. The service was ok but I would not describe it as "friendly". My husband and I left with weird feelings and pretty sure we will not return again.…
