Trendy eatery's tchotchkes, TV and muted-toned walls are complemented by ample windows, which are ideal for people-watching. Classic Thai cuisine is prepared with innovative twists. Miang lao--minced pork with dry shrimp, peanuts, garlic and tamarind juice--arrives in a crisp, edible cup. Tender Crying Tiger flank steak is grilled medium rare, while scallop seviche is gussied up with avocado, tomatoes and a citrus sauce. On the traditional side: chicken in green curry is a specialty.

After I read the Oregonian article about how the multi-millionaire owners use deportation tactics with their help the food that I previously enjoyed left a kick to my somach and a bad taste to my integrity. If you enjoy this place then one is really going to enjoy the North Korean Presidential cuisine coming to Portland in late 2009.

Great food. Lots of flavor. Not super fast but I mentioned it to our server and they said they would hurry it up. They were allowing us time to talk to each orher. In their defence we should have said we were pressed for time. Once mentioned our food came promptly. Everything was tasty.

I hadn't been a big fan of Thai food before. But a friend kept trying to convince me to check out Typhoon. I am glad I did. It's now one of my top two favorite restaurants in all of Portland. Love it!!! Incredible flavor in every dish.
