i'll never know how their bagels are !!!!. i have made the trip to bagel land multiple times and every time they have been out of bagels. if you consistently don't have bagels at bagel land at 11am on sunday maybe you should start making more. i don't think i'm going to bother trying again. i think it's ridiculous to have nothing but a few reject bagels to offer your customers for three hours. it's called bagel land, after all!  View Less View More

Sort of bagels, but not really, good flavor choices. This place is somewhere between 2 and 3 stars for me, so I gave them 3. The main thing I do like about Bagel Land is the flavor choices. Lots of them and a little different from the norm. The problem with this place is that these are not really bagels. They taste ok, but the texture is far from right. They are bagel-like of course, but they are dense and tough, not lightly chewy and a bit smooshy like a bagel should be. I have had bagels all over NYC and these are just plain not right. I got a breakfast bagel with egg, cheese and tomato most recently and the bagel is so dense that the filling oozes out the sides like mad and is hard to eat and chew because of that but it does taste ok. Portland seems to have a problem with many bread products being overly dense and chewy...bagels...baguettes, not sure why. Best bagels in town? I hope not. So bottom line, the taste at Bagel Land is decent enough, flavor choices good, but if you are expecting to eat a real bagel like they are supposed to be, you will be disappointed.  View Less View More

avoid anything toasted with cream cheese on it. i ordered a bagel with lox and cream cheese and after finally she understood the one I wanted they toasted it as I asked and slathered whipped cream cheese all over it which proceeded to ooze onto my hands, pants, etc...since there is nowhere to eat your bagel, just standing or sitting outside on the street bench, honestly these people have never had or seen a "real" New York bagel in their lives, don't bother...there is stll no real bagel in portland  View Less View More

Best in town. so, tried them all this is as close as it gets to the real deal. Some say Noah's but anyone from NYC would tell you they are the worst type of bread (not even a bagel). Make the trip, you won't be disappointed!  View Less View More

Good "On the Run" bagelry. Round about lunch time the other day, I was suffering from a bagel craving and hauled my friends along to give Bagel Land a try. The menu had a lot of tempting options, and the bagel sandwhiches we tried were all quite tasty.

A few caveats - there is no seating here except a bench outside the front door (and November in Portland is a tad chilly for outdoor dining) and the bagels do sell out early. I was there around noon and the pickins? Pretty slim.

Overall, I'd say this is a great place for a drive by lunch or to pick up a bag of bagels to bring into work first thing in the morning.  View Less
