Waste of a great space. We live in the area, and I've been to Perry's at least a dozen times. Although the food is passable and the space is nice, the prices aren't at all in line with the overall quality. We always feel like we've paid about 25% too much for what we got, and not a single dish has been memorable. Some have been awful, like the overcooked salmon. We no longer frequent Perry's at all, after so many disappointing and expensive meals.

Scrumptious. Great atmosphere, large dining area, open kitchen (but not visible from our seats), extraordinarily tasty food. Service was friendly, professional, and fast. I think we were seated by an owner (very friendly man), and there seemed to be a lot of 'regulars' there who knew him. It looks like there is a large outdoor seating area, which would be gorgeous on a summer day.

The polenta fries with mole sauce were delicious (a little on the crispy side, but how else would you make them structurally sound?).

I had the prawn, sun-dried tomato, bacon, mushroom risotto, which was out-of-this-world tasty. Our group also had the fisherwoman's stew (fantastic!), the marinara/cheese/spaghetti squash stuffed acorn squash, and the pot pie, and everyone loved their dishes.

The desserts rival Papa Hayden (without being 4 pages long), and were great as well.

We eat out a LOT, all over Portland, and this is a new favorite for us.

Best chicken pot pie ever. Have yet to actually eat there. I have eaten their chicken pot pie and it is the best I've ever had. The crust perfectly flakey and filled with chicken and potatoes. I can't wait to have it again.

Something for everyone. We were unsure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Large, airy dining room and lots of outdoor seating. The menu was very varied and has something for everyone. Huge portions! Desserts were beautiful but were massive. Great value. Only downside was the sketchy service; our waitress was overly familiar and made inappropriate comments about what we ordered, she also forgot to bring various items that we had to remind her about. Will definitely try this place again, though.

WoW do you like dessert?. I eat out a lot and I have never had a bad meat at 'Perry's.' There is nothing on this menu that is not excellent!

Try this!. I live in the Pearl where there is no shortage of good restaurants. I wanted to try something new, so I went to Perry's. The menu has a wide range for all tastes. The Halibut was the best I ever had. The food didn't appear instantly, but arrived hot and fresh. The server was great, and the place has a real ambience. I'll be back with my friends. Dr. Rick

Worst All Around. As a local to the neighborhood, we love to eat in and around our "digs". We tried Perry's almost 3 years ago and thought it was mediocre (at best) as well as way overpriced. Well, unfortunately, we gave it another try and this is what has prompted this review. It is really TOO bad that such a wonderful location has such a terrible restaurant taking up so much space. The menu is all over the place, the food, while I think it has potential, is completely underminded by the unprofessional waitstaff and slow service. All in all, we took some out of town friends here and ended up completely embarrassed by our choice of venues after having bragged about the amazing restaurants in our neighborhood. Take advantage of the other amazing restaurants in Portland- Perry's leaves A LOT to be desired.

Ok food, service could be better. I live fairly close to this restaurant though it is not on my list of places to go. I've eaten there several times over the years but nothing about it was special enough for me to want to make it a regular destination. The service was a bit snooty and I never hear anyone talk about this restaurant like I do about so many other places nearby. It's an ok place, give it a try you might like it better than I do.

Consistently great service and food!. The food, service and atmosphere is always great. This is where we go for special occasions, when you want to enjoy the company you are with in a relaxing atmosphere. Price is more than acceptable for what you get. This is not a chain restaurant, the wait staff doesn't wear buttons informing you they have a special on ribs. The desserts are wonderful. I am going there tonight, and can't wait.

Great food, and Great with Kids. My friends and I were a slightly concerned about taking their 2 year old to such an "adult" restaurant, and were pleasantly thrilled at the lovely manner in which the waitresses charmed and amused our little friend with books to read and a generally friendly presence. It was a completely delightful experience, the desserts were wonderful, and the service was perfect. Well done, Perry's!
