Perry's On Fremont

Waste of a great space. We live in the area, and I've been to Perry's at least a dozen times. Although the food is passable and the space is nice, the prices aren't at all in line with the overall quality. We always feel like we've paid about 25% too much for what we got, and not a single dish has been memorable. Some have been awful, like the overcooked salmon. We no longer frequent Perry's at all, after so many disappointing and expensive meals.…

Scrumptious. Great atmosphere, large dining area, open kitchen (but not visible from our seats), extraordinarily tasty food. Service was friendly, professional, and fast. I think we were seated by an owner (very friendly man), and there seemed to be a lot of 'regulars' there who knew him. It looks like there is a large outdoor seating area, which would be gorgeous on a summer day.

The polenta fries with mole sauce were delicious (a little on the crispy side, but how else would you make them structurally sound?).

I had the prawn, sun-dried tomato, bacon, mushroom risotto, which was out-of-this-world tasty. Our group also had the fisherwoman's stew (fantastic!), the marinara/cheese/spaghetti squash stuffed acorn squash, and the pot pie, and everyone loved their dishes.

The desserts rival Papa Hayden (without being 4 pages long), and were great as well.

We eat out a LOT, all over Portland, and this is a new favorite for us.…

Something for everyone. We were unsure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Large, airy dining room and lots of outdoor seating. The menu was very varied and has something for everyone. Huge portions! Desserts were beautiful but were massive. Great value. Only downside was the sketchy service; our waitress was overly familiar and made inappropriate comments about what we ordered, she also forgot to bring various items that we had to remind her about. Will definitely try this place again, though.…
