I purchased a high-end Asko washer/dryer set from the Portland store and the salesman was friendly and helpful. They delivered my new set promptly and took away my old one. To make a long story short, the dryer broke almost immediately, was fixed, and then broke again, one load later. It clearly had systemic problems, but Asko's policy was to keep fixing it, as opposed to replacing it. George Smith supported me in my assertion that I paid top dollar for a new, high-end dryer that was no longer in new condition due to the severity of the breakdowns and repairs. When Asko refused to replace my dryer, George Smith replaced it on their own dime the very next day. Wow, that's service!

I purchased a range, dishwasher, and microwave from George Smith Appliances. The products were name brands and performed as expected. Service was great until the sale was complete. The delivery truck drove over my yard, left a 10 foot divet, stopped, looked at it and just kept going. When I complained their manager Ty Walters promised to have someone come and fix it for 4 weeks and then just stopped responding to my calls and emails. I was happy with the appliances but very disappointed with the service.

I purchased an Amana refrigerator to replace an antiquated SubZero, which was much larger, as a built in. I had researched the type I wanted at a couple of other appliance stores, and never actually set foot in the Warehouse. I purchased it over the phone, and the salesman was courteous, asked knowledgeable questions, and set up the company who had to do the actual installation. It was sequenced perfectly, and the G.S. delivery duo removed the SubZero, even though that normally requires at least 3 men. The entire removal, installation, and cleanup took less than 90 minutes, and I was ready to prepare Thanksgiving dinner the next day! Although I believe the price was relatively high, it was competitive with other local operations--and 25% of the cost of a new Sub Zero.
