This place is awesome.. Rice and Spice is near my house so I ended up trying it a few months ago and I can't keep myself away now. The food is an awesome alternative to heavy fast food or take out, I always feel energized after eating here. I've ordered a lot of different things off the menu and everything is great, the service is really friendly, and the prices are amazing, I don't normally spend more than 6 bucks and I get a large plate of food. I am a professional cook and I think that these guys are great technicians, the vegetables are always cooked perfectly, they use tons of fresh spices a la minute, and everything is always clean.. It shows me that they really cook everything in a way that is beneficial to the food and not the cooks, which is how it should be. The outside kinda makes it look like a hole in the wall but this is probably what places like this should look like. I wish there were more restaurateurs who put this much effort into their food and service.

A Pure Pleasure Every Time I Go. This place makes me happy. I go about once per week to pick up take-out for myself and my wife. The place is run by a very pleasant family, and they make delicious Asian food at extraordinary prices. My favorite dish is their Pork Katsu. Crunchy breaded pieces of nice quality pork served with a teriyaki sauce over rice with a few veggies and it never fails to delight. My wife loves the Tofu dinner. I save leftovers and make myself an amazing pork katsu sandwich for breakfast, because there is more than I can eat in one sitting! But despite the delicious food I am even more compelled to go back because I really like the family that owns it, and it makes me feel good to get my dinner from them. I am pretty much vegetarian, but I make a few exceptions, and their Pork Katsu is one of them. It has a take-out feel to it, there is seating, but very casual, not fancy ... they always have lots of reading material available while you wait. I call ahead for pick up.
