Portland >Yen Ha
Stiff drinks. Great food. Great bartenders. Excellent Pho, wings, calamari and LOTS more. Awesome bang for your buck! If you like divey bars with great food this is your place!
Great Food, Friendly Service.
We made our first visit to Yen Ha tonight, but it won't be our last. We were talking about what to try next before we left.
We tried two different shrimp dishes, and one beef. All were fresh and well presented, and one appetizer and two other dishes was plenty of dinner for the two of us, although we ate every bit of it.
I'm glad that rekkabecca84 won't be there again, because I plan on it.
They hate excitement. They cut me off for being "too enthusiastic" for my friend's karaoke birthday. F this place. I am never going here again....jerk offs.
Great food, lots of tradtional dishes.
Out of all the Vietnamese restaurants in Portland, this is the only surviving one that serves lots of traditional dishes, dishes you could find in Vietnam. (Not all the food in Vietnam is Pho lol).
Menu: Extensive. Tons of great dishes, some more exotic than others. Menu isn't your typical Pho, Bun Bo Hue, Rice plate etc. The restaurant has dishes that are very time consuming to cook/prepare thus none of the other restaurants want to make it.
Service: Very friendly. We had some Shirley Temple delivered to us on the house. How's that for service? Never caught our waiter's name but he was very attentive and was genuinely enthusiastic about the food he served us. He took the time to check on us several times and make sure we had enough water and tea.
Food: Delicious. We had pepper salted calamari and fried fish with ginger sauce. The calamari had a very nice aroma to it. It was fried perfectly, taste was fantastic though. It had sautéed onions and my gf and I don't usually eat the onions at other places but this one looked and smelled so good we actually ate it after we cleaned the dish of all the calamari. The fried fish was great. It had a choice of two type of sauce, one was the ginger fish sauce and I forgot what the other one was. Nice and crispy with a great presentation on a bed of lettuce leaves and garnished with tomatoes and cucumbers.
We would definitely eat here more often if it wasn't for such a long drive for us. Great little restaurant on Sandy, great service, and great food. We'll be back for seconds on the calamari =)
best bartender. go get a drink, best drinks in history, 5 bucks will get u all u ever dreamed. holler at shelley, cardonz in the house, stephen represent, etc etc etc
YEN HA HAS GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE!. I WAS LUCKY TO FIND THIS PLACE ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO A FREIND OF MINE GARBO TURNED ME ON TO THEM. HE AND HIS FAMILY HAVE BEEN EATING THERE FOR OVER A 15 YEARS I HAVE COME TO TRY MANY THINGS ON THE MENU AND HERE ARE MY FAVORITES: THE SALT AND PEPPER CALAMARI IS SOME OF THE BEST IN TOWN PERIOD, THE PHO IS AWESOME, THE SALAD ROLLS ARE ALWAYS DELICIOUS AND THEY HAVE A CHIENSE HOT AND SOUR SOUP NOT ON THE MENU BUT YOU CAN ORDER THAT IS LARGE AND A GREAT MEAL IF YOU ADD A STIR FRIED RICE DISH YOU CAN FEED SEVERAL PEOPLE IT IS A VERY GOOD STARTER. I SAY TAKE A FEW CHANCES EVERYTIME YOU GO THE MENU IS 5 PAGES. THESE FOLKS ARE ALWAYS IN GOOD MOOD I KNOW YOU WILL GO BACK. ALL OF MY FRIENDS EAT THERE. CHEERS YEN HA!
Best Vietnamese in Town. My boyfriend and I are very centralized and rarely leave our hawthorn area neighborhood, but this restaurant is worth the trip. I have a constant craving for Vietnamese food and have tried many places closer to my close-in SE home but Yen Ha is by far the best.
Very Impressed!!!. We weren't sure what to expect. Being fans of salted pepper squid we strayed from our ususal spot and decided to try Yen Ha. -AND WE ARE GLAD WE DID! Flavor, quality of food, and service was awesome! I will defintely return and recommend this place to everyone I know! Our new favorite spot!
Variety. They have a little bit of everything at Yen Ha. The location is great and the setting is fantastic. If you have no idea if you like Vietnamese food then you will be impressed with Yen Ha.
Yummmmmm..... Being Vietnamese myself, I've yet to find a place that can beat the authentic food at Yen Ha. I'm a frequent customer at the place and I strongly recommend it. The Mongolian beef rolled in rice paper, fresh vegetables dipped in special sauce is my favorite! They even have a lounge next door, which is a pretty cool place to hang out on the weekends.
