I Love This Restaurant... But It's Gone!. This restaurant used to be fantastic. We went there almost once a week--it had the best Singapore noodles in the city, and their house special noodles were wonderful! (Yup, we're big noodle fans) -

Alas, the restaurant no more. It was recently purchased, remodeled, and renamed. Frankly, we were worried when it was purchased, but hoped that it would still have that great "Sam" taste. Surely no one would mess with success, right? Wrong! When we finally got up our nerve to try the new place, we were terribly disappointed: the house noodles were tasteless, and as for the the curry noodles... yuck! We'll give it another chance, but I dunno... I'm sad. Sam, we miss you!

Good Dinner, Avoid Dim Sum. Located on the main part of Viet Row (Sandy Blvd) SH caters mainly to a Vietnamese / Chinese crowd. The food is by no means incredible, especially the Dim Sum. The food could use some improvements, but nothing terrible as I've been here many times. Good prices and service too.

no no no. recent dim sum experience was not good. everything tasted bad: cha shao bao (steamed pork buns), siu mai (pork dumpling), ha gow (shrimp dumpling) - all the standards were not good. we tried some of the less common dishes - cilantro dumpling, sugar cane shrimp - also not good.

The servers were very friendly, but I wouldn't return here for the food.

FYI, I am Chinese and my wife is Vietnamese, so we have a lot of experience with good dim sum.

Best in town since Marco Polo is gone.... The lunch Dim Sum is great, and fresh. No carts here just order it and then bring it fresh piping hot. The dinner is exceptional as well. Not the typical dark, satin booths of a Chinese place, but the café style atmosphere is clean. The food is exceptional and the service is unreal! Authentic Chinese food that is surprisingly light.

You won't be disappointed.

A Bargin!. This is a wonderful place to stop for lunch...you can choose off the menu or order Dim Sum...and the Dim Sum is not rolled around on carts until it is cold and gummy...it comes fresh out of the kitchen to your table. Best of all, it doesn't break the bank. Even so, it is a nice room, not fancy, and the staff takes good care of you. More than worth the price!
