In Short – Authentic German food in an equally authentic setting, singing servers and strolling musicians add to the festive atmosphere that draws families, couples and groups of friends. Menu offerings range from fondue to sauerbraten, from hasenpfeffer to schnitzel. Diners a budget get there early for early-bird specials. The adjacent Gustav's has a cheaper menu, sans the singing. Lots of beers, a decent wine list and a full bar round out the beverage choices.
Even vegans have options.

I went to the Rheinlander with my company which was dining there for an annual event. I was expecting a lot of meat and cheese and animal fat which there totally was. I've been a very strict vegetarian (vegan) for over 10 years I figured that I'd be just be eating a dinner salad. To my surprise my job had let the Rheinlander know that I'm vegan so they made up a meal for me. I have to admit it was weird but I'm not very picky about vegetables. It was fried sweet potatoes which were breaded and then covered in mushrooms. They used olive oil instead of butter. The mushrooms were amazing. The waitress explained the entire plate of food to me in detail. I'm sure they make much better food when you order off the regular menu but I liked what I had. They met and exceeded my needs.
- Pros: Very nice staff!!
- Cons: Somewhat hard to find parking during peak hours

Every time my boss comes to town from New York he wants to go here, I think last time he went twice. What great food at reasonable dinner prices! I love the fondue!!! Its especially great with the crab or sausages!!! I always get the potato pancakes, they are spiced so well. And who doesn't love a great accordian player? They have several that roam around while you dine! If you tip they will stay at your table and play a song or two.
