Editorial Review for Alameda Brewhouse – by Anne Marie DiStefano
In Short
The pub has a spacious, refectory feel, with long tables, artistic booths and a simple stretch of bar, all made of blond wood. Behind the bar, big metal brewing vats are on display. Pleasant outside tables look across Fremont Street to a residential neighborhood. The beers span a range of styles. A long wine list and basic cocktails round out the libations. Lunches and dinners feature fresh, tasty standards like salads, pasta and quesadillas.

We went to Alameda Brew Pub on a Saturday night. There was a HUGE line of people waiting to be seated. We decided that the Bar was a more appropriate place to sit since there was just 2 of us...and we were hungry. Upon sitting down, we were immediately greeted by a bartender who had asked if we had ever been there before. Since we had not she brought over a listing of their beers and explained them all. We even tried a few before making out selections. Great selection of foods...I had the burger and my boyfriend had chicken nachos. I grew up in the mid-west...and no matter where you ate a burger, they always asked you how you wanted it cooked....to me, this is a good sign of a great burger to come. So, my medium-rare burger was unbelievable! The chicken nachos were huge and sooo tasty. We made friends with a bunch of people sitting beside us, chatted with the staff, had a great time! We have now been back around 5 times.....in a month. We do not really live in the area but, it is so worth it. Last time we had chicken wings and chips & fish......all tasted wonderful! My new favorite place. Oh yeah.....the bartenders even recognize us now. Kinda feel like Norm!
Pros: Beer, Food, Staff,....it all
Cons: Nothing to complain about

My son got food poising from the seafood. Their crab bisque is no longer tastey either. This place is way over rated and I don't trust their food or how the kitchen handles it. Don't waste your money!
