Portland >TigerLily Tattoo & DesignWorks
Go get one!!. I heard about Tiger Lily through my boyfriend he has gone there for all of his tattoos and done by Amy. So I went there and now have two tats also done by Amy, she has done awesome work on both of us, and will be going back for alot more! Thanks so much.
Highly recommented!!!!. I've always wanted to get a tattoo and with my birthday's coming up I was recommended from my friends to check out the Tiger Lilly Tattoo shop. When I first enter the shop everyone's so friendly and welcoming, I felt so comfortable with the staffs. I brought some of my designs in and with Mike V as my tattoo artist, he directed me of what design I should get and where I should put it. The second days I went back and Mike shown me the design that he drew for me and it looks sick! and hella tight on my right arm too. As a first timmer getting a tattoo, I felt so comfortable and the pain and cost was not what I expected. It was painless and affordable.
GO SEE MIKE V. !!. mike v. has been tattooing me the last few years and is a talented and amazing tattooer! mike can tattoo a broad range of styles and his lines are very clean and color solid and beautiful. mike is professional and friendly and i highly recommend seeing him!
Best Shop!. Mike V. is awesome. I've gone in w/out any idea of what I wanted and come out stoked. He did peacock feathers on my forearm over a year ago and the color and detail are (still)perfect, I get compliments all the time! I'm not local in pdx anymore but he's always made time for me when I'm in town and has some really creative ideas. Definitely recommend Tiger Lilly!
Great Shop!. I got a tattoo back in June from Igor. I brought in a design a friend had drawn for me. Igor helped me change a few things I didn't like and even suggested a change I really loved. He was very nice (as was everyone I spoke to there) and my tattoo looks great. I'm definitely going back to Tiger Lilly for any more tattoos while I'm living in Portland.
Mike V's a great Tattoo artist. I got my first tattoo from Mike V, the day after Obama got elected. I went to atleast ten other tattoo shops before I stopped at Tiger Lily. The shop is OK and the music was OPB talk radio that sucked. But when I saw Mike V's portiflio I was stoked because I was looking for great new traditional and thats exactly what it was. I highly recommend him, he doesnt tax you on the price, the parking is easy, and this Shop was featured in Tattoo magazine 1/1/2009 and thats awesome to show off to your buddys with tattoos from artists who haven't been featured in the top tattoo magazine.
a child tattoo. my tattoo is not much to talk about . I hate what they made that they call art was not what I wanted and would not come to this shop.
First tattoo...AWESOME!. Getting my first tattoo was huge...the tattoo as well as the experience. I needed something to memorialize my friend who had passed away and it had to be something I'd be proud to wear for life. (NOTE: I've avoided tattoos for all of my 39 years, even when gently prodded by the very best friend who passed.) After a ton of research I decided to walk into Tigerlily. I was greeted by Igor in a very clean and sterile setting that also had a fun vibe. Igor and another artist who was in the middle of a session helped me with ideas. They wisely advised me to pick something my buddy loved that could be incorporated into a tribute without making me sad every time I looked in the mirror. I settled on the FN 5.7 gun with his intials in the grip and smoke from the chamber spelling out EOW. When I was ready, Igor was out of the country but I felt a great connection with Amy and her work. I didn't want a cartoon look for obvious reasons. The day of the tat I was nervous as hell but she reassured me and explained everything from what I'd feel to the importance of breathing. She had a gentle and deft hand. Her shading and creative technique with the smoke letters blew me away. It took a little over 3 hours but I never felt overwhelmed or bored. The time passed quickly and I had fun cracking jokes with her. I've received tons of compliments on it, especially from those who have been inked more than once. It healed quickly, never scabbed and only peeled a tiny bit. If I ever decide to get another, it will be at Tigerlily.
i was 50/50 on this place. For my first tattoo experience it was mostly positive. The place was very clean and Igor worked with the design that my partner and I presented and helped to customize it. I didn't notice until a week later that part of the design was a little uneven. It was a Celtic knot so the real appeal is it's symmetry. It's very slight and not noticeable unless I point it out, but it is there. I know it doesn't detract from it's overall beauty, but because of this I wouldn't ever return to him for any future work or recommend him to anyone. An experienced artist will ocassionally make mistakes and yes, it was slight but also very permanent. I did go back to him and point it out. He noticed it also and told me it isn't something that he can fix. There are so many amazing artists in this city so make sure you shop around and find the right match for you.
Go to Igor!.
I had an incredible experience at Tiger Lilly for my first tattoo. Igor was absolutely incredible! I got a lotus flower on my hip and not only did Igor place it in perfect "flow" with the contours of my body, it also covered a surgical scar.
Everyone who has seen it has told me that it looks more like a painting than a tattoo. There's no cheesy cartoonish tattoo feel to it; it literally looks like a work of art. Igor took my concept and made it better than I could ever have imagined.
