It may not actually be an "Inn" but you'll want to stay at this neighborhood bar with free pool (Sun.), "Pub Quiz" and daily drink specials.

Worst place ever. Bartenders are snotty and don't know how to make drinks without the aid of an app. Don't waste your hard earned drink money on their overpriced fare.

F*ck this Place. It was my BDay 3-5-2011, well the bouncer assaulted me, the bartender or someone working there fraudulently signed my receipt charging me 52.25$ and a 10$ tip for 1 pitcher of beer. then when I went in there this morning the bartender refused to admit to doing it and refused to let me talk to the Owner of the place. then had me pushed out of the bar. By the same enraged cook that someone else mentioned before in another Review. I've already talked with my bank and stopped the charge so they get no money from me I guess that was My Birthday gift from the bar. the place sucked ball-sack over priced on everything, the people working there allow drug dealers to sit around and sell out of the place me and my brother saw it happen more than once last night and Everyone there are Posers They call them selves "(LOCALS)" when they are not even from Portland, let-alone Oregon. that is disrespectful, especially when they are telling me that, and I am LOCAL born and bred in this city. I just wish My city would go back to the way it was before it got over run by "Out Of Towners"

Horrible. I already posted this review to other restaurant rating services, but the service was so horrible that I had to repost it so hopefully no one else wastes their money in this bar.

I had to wait several times to get a drink while the bartenders skipped me (and others who had been waiting) to serve people who had just arrived. When I finally ordered a drink I asked the bartender for a menu, she never came back to take my order. When finally was able to order food I was given a plastic number sign and told as long as I kept it with me I could gamble and someone would bring the food to me. 45+ minutes later it took me 10 more minutes to get the attention of a bartender to find out my order was forgotten and had to be re-ordered, I then ordered another beer which was NOT comped to me. Horrible Food: The food was horrible, the fries were obviously cooked in the same frier that is used for fish and chips, and with probably the oldest grease I have ever tasted, I could not finish my meal. Prices: Despite what others say here, the prices are not good, they are high. High being average for Portland...the prices are average at best. The only good think about this place was that I visited on a Sunday night, and there was still a bit of a crowd.

katrina and the waves. i sincerely adore the belmont inn. sadly, i am not sitting within its confines as i type this. thankfully, there is more time. much more time to relive the grand memories. memories of observing a nearly half -full pint standing at attention while anticipating to comply with orders received from its loyal commander. but it must wait. wait like all of us. the fine-bubbled amber liquid must find contentment while i succumb to my primary vice. we can not smoke inside anymore. do not question the law. if you have a better idea, well - then you are wrong. that is, you are wrong if you are not at the belmont inn. you will smoke outside while you enjoy your time here, however, when you are on the inside, you will be walking on sunshine.

In responce to goducks80. I was also a witness to this incident. It started when the "victim" got off his bar stool and approached another patron. He then told the patron that everything was fake and called the guy a jack-ass. It became obvious the two did not know each other and had no other interaction the entire time i was there. The patron went straight to the bartender and made him aware of the situation. The bartender asked the "victim" what was going on. The "victim" replied with the same word several times: Jack-Ass. After being ignored the bartender called for the door guy, who was very polite in escorting the "victim" to the door. At the door the "victim" turned toward the door man and attempted to knee him in the balls. Then the door guy physically removed the now getting violent "victim" from the bar. Although i myself did not witness the next few seconds I did make it outside for a smoke in time to hear the "victim" yelling at the African door guy and Spanish cook, "this is our country nig---'s". By the way right after that another patron opened the door and started yelling at the staff that they should be sued for assault, goducks80 maybe, and I am sure that helped an already volatile situation. Oh ya, if you stuck around about 20 more minuets you may have witnessed the "victim" came back to apologize to the staff for his actions, and the bartender paid for the "victim" to get a cab home.

The Boucer Assulted a patron tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Went to my favorite neighborhood bar tonight and was disgusted by violence at the hands of the staff of UFC night. My friends and I witnessed a person being escorted out of the bar only to be PUNCHED IN THE FACE!!! by the regular weekend bouncer outside. The other bar staff rushed out only to aid in the assault. My entire group witnessed the whole VIOLENT assault. The guy was pushed outside(bounced out) once he was outside, the bouncer threw him up against a parked car. The victim was holding the bouncer off and had given up. Then the bouncer slammed him against the truck again and slammed his fist into the guys face and dropped him to the sidewalk. When we went outside, the enraged cook and bartender screamed at me and my girlfriend to get back in side or this will happen to us. Then, when I went back inside and was telling my friends what I saw, the cook ran inside and I watched him scanning around the bar for me. When he found me he bee lined straight to me, approached me and with a finger in my face told me, "if I don't stop talking @##!, then that will be me!" I couldn't believe it. I had to tell him that I have the entire thing on tape so he'd leave me alone. The person being escorted out wasn't even putting up a visable fight. Those guys should be prosecuted, and definitely fired. Very Scary.

What feels so wrong is we live next door, have been long time customers of this bar, spent countless dollars...and now never want to return.

So disappointed.

Thanks for ruining my birthday. I turned 22 tonight (bad enough that my birthday is 9/11!) The pool tables are the most inconveniently placed tables in the entire city. The staff are all completely incompetent morons. I got ID'd THREE times within a 1.5 hour period. Took a glass of water into their back smoking table and had the bartender (Dave I believe) literally SNATCH it out of my hand without a coherent word said, just inaudible mumbles under his breath to explain his actions, leaving all my friends asking "what was that about?". After we had our cigarettes, we returned to our table (7 minutes tops!) to find that they'd cleared our tables with two drinks 3/4 filled and a couple about half-filled. I don't drink outside the house much, but when I do I've always gone here and brought family from out of town and friends here in the past, but never again!!! I've never been so embarrassed in my life or felt as guilty for inviting others out as I have tonight. And their drinks are the weakest I've had in Portland! By the way, all of my friends were quiet, courteous, purchased drinks, nothing to warrant such horrible service. Thanks for a terribly awful end to a birthday.

Excellent Food!. Their 1/2lb burgers are the best deal in town by far for a starting price of $5 at lunch! I did have to ask the bartender why he was charging me $7.25 for $5.50 cheeseburger lunch specials, but he did quickly fix it upon my pointing out that my bill should have been around $15 instead of $19.

Good time any night of the week. When I go out I always find myself at Belmont's Inn. The Bartenders and Staff are excellent: friendly, quick, attentive! There is a good selection of beer on tap. The crowd that gathers is a good mix of friendly folks also. Conversations with strangers are typical here. It is a good spot to play pool or pinball. I have had a good time every time I visit the Inn and easily call it my favorite bar. It is a casual place that doesn't require you to dress up or wear uncomfortable shoes to have a good time. I typically take a deck of cards with me and often times wind up playing cards with new people. Belmont Inn is a good time all the way around. If you want a good ol' time with chill people this is the spot for you.
