Rude service, mediocre food. My boyfriend and I were excited to try Nick's out tonight. Unfortunately, it was a HUGE disappointment. The waitress/bartender was extremely rude. The food was okay, the Coney Island tasted more like a chili dog then a real coney island dog.

I can't say enough about how BAD the service was. I would never go back.

New Owners, New Menu, New Cooks!. Go in and meet the new owners Carrie & Casey! They are working to maintain the best of Nick's history and the coney recipe from the 1940's while updating menu items and recipes for the current customers! There is more than dogs and burgers too - homemade soup and pie.

The current staff of cooks is very good!

Thursday nights are now Karoake Nights, and there's a DJ with music on Friday nights, as well as all the sports channels.

And.....Check out breakfast on Sat. and Sun. beginning at 9 a.m. I'll see you there!

Wretched....!. My sweetie loves coney island style hotdogs - Nick's are the absolute worst we've found in many years of searching and sampling around the U.S. We should have done an about-face when we walked in at lunch hour and found the place empty, but no, we stayed and regretted it. According to the waitress, "the fries are terrific!" No, they are actually undercooked, limp and greasy. Back to the dogs....tiny soggy buns covered with a spicy heap of greasy chopped hamburger - the dogs themselves just tasted bad - and undercooked. Want cheese with that? Well yes, it is a coney island dog. Look, I found some - unfortunately it was the plastic-wrap garbage that belongs in the waste....

Anyway, it's hard to figure out why our food was undercooked, unless, maybe they want to get our food out before we left!! AVOID at all costs.

Also, how did the restrooms get so filthy if no one is there?

Want to get sick? Then eat here!!!. I live right off Hawthorne so I like to give every pub/eatery the local business. But I can NOT in fact promote Nick's to anyone. I have been there on two separate occasions and will never go back again! The first time I got sick off the tasteless connie dog (as which there named for). The second time I was there I was served completely raw chicken wings. I mean cold as the moment the ignorant cook took them out of the fridge. I am boycotting Nick's as I suggest any of you reading this should!!!

Wow, really? How can food be this bad?. Both my girlfriend and I threw up when we got home. I ordered nachos and she got the vegetarian coney dog. The salsa on the nachos had rotten tomatoes in it. I didn't notice before I had eaten 1/4 of them. The dog was way too salty. A picture fell off of the wall near us and the cook came out of the kitchen and looked at us like we were the ones to blame. It was a snotty ass look and when my girlfriend explained we had nothing to do with it, he commented "I don't care!". The waitress was very nice, but that was the only upside of this less than stellar hot dog stand.
