ELMER'S for a good breakfast in Portland, OR. ELMER'S is a small chain of family restaurants in Portland. The one I patronize is between SE Stark and SE Washington at the 205. You can see the sign from the freeway exit. I've eaten all three meals there but the one I like best is the breakfast. The Mr. Elmer's omelet has a large combination of ingredients, always tastes fresh and is served with an Elmer's signature bisquit, plus hash browns or fresh fruit. I've also had the French Toast combo. It includes four thick slices, two eggs any style, and your choice of bacon or sausage.

My favorite item though is the Crab & Bacon Benedict. The Dungeoness crab is local and is a delicious treat. It is also served with either hash browns or fresh fruit.

As family restaurants go Elmer's is a notch or two better than the rest. It's clean, well maintained, with plenty of parking. If I had one complaint the service may be a little too good. I eat there all the time and while you're eating at least two and often three staffers will come by and ask "how it is." This wouldn't bother most people perhaps but I find it insincere and an overkill.

Terrible Service, didn't even make it to the meal. Walked in to a fairly empty restaurant with my 1 and 3 year olds. Waitress couldn't manage to set us up with highchairs. When I finally got us settled in, she proceeded to offer coffee to a table that sat down while I was trying to settle my kids. Hey, what about me? How about some help over here?

I left and went to Jam. Got TERRIFIC service and a great meal!…

Scrumptous Breakfast. Utopia is an excellent breakfast and lunch cafe. They have amazing unique scrambles and brioche french toast. They are very reasonably priced and have great customer service. Warm friendly and comfortable. They have great daily specials. It fits the neighborhood perfectly. I really enjoy the rotating artwork put up by local artists. I highly recommend Utopia for anyone who wants to try a unique and different breakfast place. Waits normally on weekends but it is well worth it!!!! Try it!…

Never got our food and still had to pay for it. I went to the place because I heard my sister that disappeared years ago after stiffing a lot of people money owned this place. I went in and saw my sister Val and I asked the server to tell her that her little brother was sitter here. She stated to the server that her brother was dead and had no clue to whom I was. Them made up some other crazy stuff.. I would state that this is a new scam SHE IS RUNNING AND i WOULD AVAOID THIS PLACE.. The service sucked and we never got or order.. We did pay the bill for the food we never got and the staff there seem to think that scams are normal!!!…
