Great Breakfast.
We went on a weekend and got there right before the rush (around 8:30). The waitstaff was a little overworked and it took a while to order, but once we did the food was up pretty quick.
I thought they did a great job on the breakfast. They had a fantastic assortment of fruits that came with my breakfast and the challah toast was great.
I enjoyed the decor, especially the paintings, and it was a nice day to look out the window at people walking about, although this was eventually obscured by those milling about waiting to hear their name called.…
skip the cricket--rude waitstaff. I ate breakfast at about 11am on November 30th and when we arrived there was one two top in the restaurant and the place was otherwise empty, the waitress in an annoyed manner told us to sit anywhere so we sat at the booth and she asked us to move. Slightly confused and a little bothered by the fact that the restaurant was empty, we moved to a rickety table. The waitress continuted to be snotty and seems to not like her job or maybe just doesn't like to be nice to people. Bummer. I have been frequenting Cricket for years but I will make a point to not go again, based on this experience. Very unprofessional and unkind, our food order was messed up twice, and there was no one even in there but us! No excuse for this, coming from myself, a server who likes my job and likes my customers.…
Cricket needs to go back to basics..... Ate at Cricket Cafe on November 30 for breakfast. The server was not friendly and came across as someone who obviously doesn't like her job or the customers. Plates and water glass was covered in oily fingerprints and looked gross. Food was good. The table I sat at was broken and wobbley and piled next to it was the bus bins holding dirty dishes that smelled of old sour milk. This was my second chance for the Criket Cafe and they failed. I suggest they clean up the place and bring in new waitstaff.... There are plenty of other places on Belmont skip the Cricket.…
Amazingly Creative Breakfasts. While visiting Portland, my friend Megan told me about Cricket Cafe and the great food. I was amazed by the menu, so many unique breakfast offerings and cocktails to pair with Breakfast! Of course great coffee drinks too. I'd recommend: The Saints Hash Go on late on weekday to guarantee a table and pray you get Jessie as your server. She is the atmosphere.…
Rude service. I really want to like this place, but with the exception of one waitress who has been there forever, I've had too many encounters with rude wait staff. The food is ok, but nothing to write home about. Maybe the appeal is the alcoholic beverage.…
