In Short
Large groups and couples dine in a charming dining room decorated with wood furniture, gold wall tapestries and various decorative knickknacks on shelves. Appetizers include beef carpaccio in a lemon-olive oil vinaigrette and port wine-marinated melon wrapped in prosciutto. Pastas are chock-full of vegetables, like the pomodoro al forno--spaghetti tossed with oven-roasted tomatoes and sauteed garlic, leeks and artichokes. Meaty palates can order the veal shank simmered in red wine.

This place has great atmosphere & would be such a charming & romantic place to eat, if the food weren't subpar. I have tried to like it, but each time I'm disappointed. Once, I ordered a featured steak rare, and it arrived laughably well-done & the consistency of an old shoe. Subsequent visits have turned up lame pasta dishes. Such a shame, too, since it's right around the corner from my house!

We arrived at 7pm for our reservation and were sat promptly by our wonderful server. I chose to start with a salad with goat cheese which we split. The Entree I chose was the fish special which was a salmon dish with risotto and my date decided on the gnocchi. Our waiter recommended a Chianti which was the right choice. The lighting is dim, with candles, great decorations.We both enjoyed our food and would definitely recommend this for a romantic date spot.
Pros: good food, feels italian, moderately priced
