My new favorite Italian Spot. Came in for Happy Hour to find one of my favorite Italian food items on the list: gnocchi in a tomato white sauce, so light and fluffy. The crepes were also quite good. All super cheap and even some great glasses of wine that were in the $6 or $7 range.

I am definately telling my friends about my new find!!!

worst service ever!!!. such a let down. i had been wanting to try this place fr years. always forgetting bout it. when we finally went, we made reservations. showed up 10 min early and were not seated for 20 even though there were only about 4 tables sat and no one else waiting. it then took ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. so we made sure to order everything at this time. over an HOUR later our food arrived, with only being dropped out drinks in between ordering. NOT ONCE were we checked on in an HOUR! there was no reason this should have taken so long and where was our waitress?!?! she would appear to check on a table then avoid us and disappear. as for the food, i personally liked my dish, but my girlfriend was not happy with hers. and mine was not nearly good enough to sit through that ever again for. i have NEVER left zero for a tip until then. and i have also never written a food review, but this was just unacceptable.

Bad Groupon decision. Should have known when the iced tea came from a soda gun that this place was going to be a disappointment. We got a $45 Groupon and were excited to try a new place but everything was awful. The server was really slow and had to be assisted by the other front of the house staff. The antipasti and one pasta dish came out completely different than what had been described on the menu. Food was bland and uninteresting. Would have prefered to spend $80 at another place, not worth the money!

Food good - service slow.... Walked in on a Saturday at 6:30 without reservation and got a table right away. Took 15 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. They did not have the wine we selected but upgraded us to another bottle for the lesser price. We were there to catch up with friends, so were not in a hurry and that was good. It was clean plate club for everyone. Pastas were good and lasagna excellent.

Happy diners. What a great little spot, I'm glad we heard about it. The atmosphere is warm, it made me feel right at home. The staff is friendly and our food items were all really good. I would recommend the stuffed chicken breast and the gnocchi, both very good choices.

Also their pannacota- not sure on spelling, was flavored with lavender and white chocolate. A definate must!!

Really wanted to love it. I've been wanting to go here and we finally made it (just 2 of us) for my birthday. We had reservations and were seated promptly on a Friday evening but there were plenty of 2 tops open the 2.5 hours we were there. Yep, a bit longer than expected. It was also very loud and it wasn't even full.

We ordered wine, an appetizer and 2 entrees. My wine came and we sat and talked for about 45 minutes. Watched tables around us with a different waiter get second drink orders and even the same appetizer we had ordered.

After getting our waitress' attention, she came over with 2 entrees. She seemed surprised we'd never gotten the appetizer ("the other server must have taken it to the wrong table") and the 2 entrees she brought were not ours. We said we were leaving and they offered to comp me a glass of wine as the entrees were coming right out. We realized at 8pm on Fri with no other reservation we'd end up waiting anywhere else so stayed.

Food arrived, was ok. I had the saltimbocca and hubby had one of the pastas. Decent but nothing to rave about.

Bottom line, bring your own water bottle, have plenty of time to wait, and enjoy the cute decor. Or go to Ciao Vito, Pazzo, 3Doors or any other better value spots and enjoy a great meal with reasonable service.

Loved our Dining experience. We arrived at 7pm for our reservation and were seated promptly. The friendly wait staff pointed out that we could even order some of the items as vegetarian, but I had already decided on the Arugula beet salad and the lasagna as an entree. My partner went with lamb chops, which he said were pretty tasty.

The decor was very old world and that was refreshing to us.

We will definately be going here again.

Fallen from grace. Bummer! Used to eat here semi-frequently a few years ago and it was a destination for us we looked forward to. Tonight, we noticed the menu hasn't changed in our 2 year absence. The 3 dishes we hungrily ordered were WAY-disappointing. The salmon fettucine was bland and the salmon totally over-cooked and tasted like Sysco quality. The gnocchi dish had so much dill in the sauce it tasted like pickles. The portobellos in the linguine were not cooked through. Straight up...the most disappointing meal I've had in P'land in years, especially from a former star. I asked if the ownership or kitchen had changed recently, and the very nice waitstaffer informed me that the owner was cooking. The only thing that told me was that times must have been tough and the chef was let go to save payroll. Any owner at the oven that cooks like this deserves to be in another line of work. Its a shame because this place is one of the few pasta restaurants open late.

How to ruin seasonal food:. I used to frequent this place as a child with my parents and had such fond memories... Maybe I should have left them intact. Coming to Piatto as an adult was a mistake. The all female front of house was all you could ask for: Friendly, charming and efficient. But something was amiss in the kitchen that night. When I go out to eat I am the last person to talk ill of the food, but this was too much. My pasta was overcooked to mush, the asparagus (which is in season I might add) was nothing but woody ends and the chicken sausage was fat and chewy. I thought I could find solace in nibbles from my girlfriends meal of tomato topped halibut, but alas the fish was overcooked to tastelessness and the tomatoes tasted slightly of rot. I will not be going back.

Wow... wonderful place. My new favorite Italian restaurant. I absolutely love everything about this place.
