A Good place for dinner. To me, this is about as average as I have seen. Everything from the service and atmosphere to the food was unremarkable. The staff was friendly but overall this place is forgettable.

Best Thai In Thown!. Okay, so I've been coming here for I don't know how long, and I have always had delicious food and happy, friendly service. I am quite sorry for anyone who has not, and would ask that they give it another shot. It's no fluke that this place has made an impact on some very well known restaurant critiquing agents and travel guides; one only need to look at the wallpaper of 4 star review stickers on the front door!

Sit down and choose a couple of different items to try... after all, it's so reasonably priced that if you don't like it, you won't feel like you were robbed.

Thank you Thanh Thao for continuing to serve amazing Thai in a comfort-food style that appears to pack this place consistently! I'll be back real soon, no worries.

Hot n sour soup, coconut lemongrass soup...very good!. I don't think I've eaten at this Thanh Thao location. We used to eat at their 82nd & Powell location a lot. You're right; they have the best hot n sour soup I've ever tasted.

I love this place!. I usually order take out, but their service is pretty good. They are attentive and friendly. The food is DELISH. I don't know how I'd survive if they weren't right down the street from me. I highly recommend the phad phet. It's my favorite and I always get it. Why fix it if it's not broken? I don't care what anyone says. I know I'm sad on Tuesdays when they are closed. Check this place out, you won't regret it! The only thing they could improve on would be to give you more rice with take out.

Choose carefully and you can't go wrong. Thanh Thao is a long-time neighborhood favorite of our family. Trial and error has turned up some good food and not so good food.

Avoid the noodle dishes--they disappoint with little flavor and too much oil.

My favorites are the Saigon noodle soup and any of the curry dishes, especially mock duck with red curry and panang mock duck.

Salad rolls are OK, but you'll need to spice the peanut sauce up a bit with condiments on the table.

Generous portions, good service, and fair prices. We eat here at least twice each month.

You can get better food down the street-- avoid this place. I don't understand why Thanh Thao is so popular. I decided to try it last night with a friend. We arrived for dinner a little before six and were seated promptly, but I had to get up and ask for menus. We ordered mango juice, salad rolls, pad thai, and pad see ewe. The salad rolls arrived promptly, but were pretty boring. Not great, not awful. The peanut sauce tasted like Jiffy. Our noodles arrived shortly after, but mine was so hot I nearly burned my mouth on it. After letting it cool for a while, I found my noodles really bland and greasy. My friend's pad thai wasn't much better. Our mango juices never arrived and they kindly took them off the bill with an apology.

If you want really cheap, mediocre food, I guess this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would recommend pretty much anywhere else on Hawthorne, including Chopsticks and Fujin.

:P. Thanh Thao offers deliciousness for a great price. The more common dinner dishes ran around $7 - $10 with portions large enough for two (especially if you get an order of spring rolls), or if you want it all to yourself there should be plenty for left-overs. The service staff has always been friendly and greeted us with a smile. On our last visit we arrived only a few minutes before closing and at no time did we feel rushed to leave even after we had finished our meal. I also hear they have a good lunch hour deal.

I recommend the Massaman Curry. It's D-Licioius

Best Thai on Hawthorne. The food is awesome! Twice now we have made reservations for large groups (10+) and the food and service was great. I have yet to have a meal here that I dislike. Try the Pad Thai, any of the curry's, spring rolls, anything, it's all good...

Mediocre to bad. There are just too many good options in this neighborhood to deal with the overcooked tasteless vegetables, bland meat, and dirty floors at this dump. Go elsewhere (Thai Thai for instance, still looking for others).
