awesome coffe, free wifi!. Underpriced Americanos, free wifi, and comfortable seating. What else do you need? Don't forget it's cash only.

Yep, it's good. This place seems to have a decent amount of community support, which I take to be a good sign. I had an unremarkable soy latte in a glass stein, and the barista was slow but quite cheerful and friendly (I think he even let me stay a few minutes after closing, and he wasn't a jerk about it when he finally kicked me out). They have a computer with internet access, as well as free wifi for laptop users. There's a lot of interesting stuff on the walls, along with some unusually-constructed chairs, which is always a plus in my book. My laptop cord wouldn't stay in the first wall plug I tried, but there's a convenient power strip in the corner with a half-dozen outlets. I didn't order any food, but I did notice that they have a discounted day-old pastry basket, a favorite feature for people like me who want to spend money on luxuries while pretending to be thrifty.

Great Americanos, love the atmoshphere, fits very nicely into neighborhood. I typically enjoy Americanos, kind of basic for your Barista, but it is also a defining drink in that if you can make a great Americano you should be able to cover just about any coffee drink ordered. I found the Americano at Three Friends to be very good, but almost as important, the service was responsive and friendly which made the whole experience a highly recommended one.

I tried the vegan brownie (not marketed as vegan, but it is), and it was outstanding, the chocolate flavor jumps out at you, and it is soft and moist, the way I like my brownies. If I had known vegan was this good, I would have joined the ranks a long time ago! Fortunately for all non vegans, they sell this great brownie to anyone.

Please find this great coffee house, you will be glad you did, I know I will be back for many more Americanos, and probably a few more brownies as well!

Three Friends can froth my milk anytime. It's hard to explain how something as prosaic as a cappuccino and a bagel could be so fantastic, but it's true. The capps are espresso with a large dollop of foamed milk on top. Pretty hard to find these days. I don't know where they get their bagels, but they simply are the best in Portland. I'm an omnivore who can vouch for the tofu pate. I think it's homemade. It has a nice texture and flavor

Also, the vibe and the people (patrons and proprietors) are gracious and smart.

Nice Friendly Coffee Shop. I was drawn into this place by the smell of fresh bread, but since I was in a hurry I ended up buying a smoothie instead. Good Smoothie's, but next time I will drop in for a sandwhich and a cup of joe at this relaxed spot.
