Cal's Pharmacy gets its unique name from its rather unique roots. In 1986, pharmacist Marvin Lee allowed his three sons to turn a corner of his neighborhood pharmacy into a so-called "skate shop." From these humble beginnings, the store expanded and moved to its own location and now also carries snowboarding gear. The store carries T-shirts, sweatshirts and jeans from brands like Volcom and ES plus a huge selection of DC and Etnies skate shoes.

This listing is dreadfully innaccurate in so many ways. There are a lot of major mistakes in the company info including a description and graphic stolen from the CAL SKATE website.

Pharmacy is where it's at. They just moved to an awesome new location right next door to the Dept. of Skateboarding (my other most favorite spot in Portland). They have always been the place to go for skateshoes. But with the new spot, they have even more shoes and clothes than ever before and a board wall that is two stories tall! It is worth going just to see that! But most of all I love that the guys who run it and work there are all real skaters who love skateboarding and know what's up. Plus they are all really friendly and helpful and happy to put a board together or change wheels over for anyone.
