Owner is a Nut Case. I bought a very expensive pair of Kawasaki frames and lenses and they told me they would be ready in 10 days. I waited 43 days and after several phone calls, I went in and asked what gives? They tried to give me the run around and was told that they were having "production problems"! Production problems? I asked the young lady what really happened and she eventually told me that the owner was not able to pay his lab bill and everything was on hold! She was very nice, I contacted the owner Gary Phiel and he went into a screaming fit! I asked for a refund and he said that they "don't give refunds ever" I ased to be comensated for having to wait so long for my glasses and I thought he was going to attack me. He was yelling wild and out of control! "What about my problems" he ranted! I got my glasses after a 68 day wait! They were fine, but the owner needs to go to a shrink! They say they have been in Portland since 1910, hard to imagine that, when they behave like mental patients! I paid $470 for the glasses and have never been treated in such a manner! Watch out for this place, not only bad service, but is it worth risking you're life over?…
Nice guys finish last!. ..had I only read the reviews before buying! I ordered glasses from Reynolds as opposed to Binyons, Lens Crafters or Costco as I like to support local businesses....I've been waiting for my glasses now for 2 weeks..I called the store and no one picked up after 15 rings...the store couldn't be coosed, it was a weekday..??I called back and was told they were going to check on my glasses, and they will call me right back...that was yesterday...still waiting..will I ever get them? Will let you know, and will let you know the quality.…
Watch out for the Owner. I was treated OK by the staff and they have some pretty nice products and two for one deal was reasonable. That is untill I had a problem, glasses were making me dizzy. I went to the shop and the young kid did not do anything and just said "the perscription is as written". I went to another Optician and he told me that the optical was not on center and that I am getting prism effect. Went back to Reynolds and met owner Gary Phiel and he said; "that I waited to long to bring them back and warranty does not apply" I was led to believe I had a year warranty on this product.? I did some checking and it turnes out he made Rouge of the week in a local paper as he destroyed 1050 patient medical charts and admitted it in court documents. Why? Because he was in a dispute with the doctor. If he does that to them he will do the same to you! Watch out for this person.…
Thanks reviewers!.
I am just now in the market for some new frames. I would like to thank the reviewers of Reynolds, here at Citysearch, for saving me some time/hassle. If the only person that has anything real and
positive to say is someone that worked there, something just isn't right.
I will be going elsewhere- thanks for saving me the trouble!…
2 sides to every story.
I used to work there and know how hard it is when helping unreasonable customers.
Before complaining about a broken frame, ask yourself; did you buy it for $20 off their sale table? (there's a reason it's on sale. you get what you pay for)
Before bitching about coatings coming off 2 years later ask yourself; would I find it unusual for a pair of jeans I wear several times a week to start to show signs of wear over time?
Before you purchase something maybe you should find out what you're getting. Questions are encouraged, not prohibited. If you know you have a strong prescription, you should know that there's several options for lenses so ask what your options are.
As for unexperienced staff, about half probably had previous experience. It's understandable if they don't know EVERYTHING. Don't youremember a job that you had that trained you on the job? How nerve racking it was? I do. I have sympathy for anyone who works in customer service. It's not always pretty.
I don't doubt that Reynolds has made mistakes. What company hasn't? But big deal. How about putting you on blast everytime you've ever made a mistake?
Those who live in glass houses.........…
