A 1 armed monkey with a store bought box cake mix can make a better cake then these buffoons. My fiancee wanted a pink champagne cake from JaChiva's and I made sure she got it. The cake was picked up this morning and and when I came home this evening I was told that that cake was dry and tasteless, So I tried it. My first thought, for the $100 we spent on the cake, I could have gone to the store and bought a lot of boxes of Betty Crocker white cake mix, added some red food coloring, and made every single person their own personal cake that was moist and delicious. In the end, after a bit of arguing and being told that pink champagne is always a problem (it might have helped if they told us this in the first place) they did give us a full refund but they did loose our business for our up-coming wedding and everyone at the party will never go to them for a cake again. Not the cake I ordered!. I ordered a Star Wars themed cake from JaCiva's for my son's preschool graduation party. I was very specific on the phone about what I wanted. The associate assured me that my cake would be cool and beautiful. I really wanted to surprise my son with this cake!

Unfortunately, when they opened the box to show me the cake, my face dropped! It was not anything like a Star Wars cake, it was a celestial cake, and airbrushed celestial cake. The cake was decorated with a couple planets, a sun and a moon, that's it. I expressed my disappointment but all they did was not charge me for the decorations.

There were three women at the counter, two were sympathetic, one was downright snotty. The snotty woman acted like this was my fault because I didn't know they couldn't make character cakes. If that information would have been made known to me, I would have made other plans. I informed the snotty woman that I could have gone to a grocery store for cake, but I chose them. Her reply, in a snotty, sarcastic voice "Well, that's a nice thing to say."

I could have made my own cake and decorated it myself (and better) and probably saved myself some time and money.

Glamorous Unique Wedding Cake. I had the shortest amount of time possible to plan are second yes second wedding in portland after we eloped! Only two months notice!! I went in and wasn't threaled by the wedding cake sales girl but she got what we wanted and that was the point. I can care less about who takes the order as long as it comes out the way I want. She was nice and courteous. The Cake was PERFECT when we finally seen it... I had given them a special order I wanted a Shiny shiny cake and the super pearl sprayed it 2x. Exactly what I had asked for and along with that, I had given them my Swarovski crystal ribbion banding that cost a fortune to get. They put it on exactly the way I wanted it was Gorgeous!!! Awesome Wedding Cake. I spent 8 months planning my wedding, watching "Amazing Wedding Cakes" etc trying to get an idea of EXACTLY what I wanted. I heard about Jaciva's and ordered my best friend's baby shower cake there as a "test" and it was AWESOME! The baby under the blanket cake, so cute. I then drew a pic of my perfect wedding cake. It turned out exactly how I wanted it to, brought tears to my eyes when I saw it. Not only that, it was the best tasting cake my guests had ever tasted (poppy seed with raspberry filling is to die for).
