It was ok..since I was smashed... So 1 of my friends turned 21 so after drinking at a friends house we ended up here...It was a Saturday and it was crowded as hell. Which some people might find a good or bad thing...I ordered a beautiful for my friend so I could get him smashed but turns out that they ran out of Hennessey....How tha heck does that happen? So I ordered 2 Long Islands and they were pretty big and made just right...

Yikes. Start here, don't end up here. If you are already three sheets to the wind, you might take into account that the smoke inhaulation will take you over the edge(even if you are a smoker). I do like the atmosphere as far as decor goes. The staff is friendly enough and we had prompt service. The drinks were stiff but not good. It's hard to find stiff and good sometimes! I will still take visitors there just because it seems like a Hawthorne staple. BOG is just a stumble away too.

A good place to lounge. Stiff, cheap drinks, trippy murals and blacklights...what more could you ask for? The booths are comfortable and inviting and I could stare at the murals of downtown Portland and Mt. Hood for hours. The bathroom sucks, so don't suck down too many cheap cocktails. This is the place to go to get drunk. Plan on taking a cab if you intend to stay more than an hour.

Space Room: overrated. This bar is way overrated. Sure - it's a Portland landmark. But come ON - the waitstaff are RUDE and ARROGANT, the drinks are overpriced, and the place is WAY too smoky and usually way too crowded. I used to go to the Space Room occasionally thinking I'd just hit it on a bad night & always gave it "one more try". Well, at this point I'm not giving it ANY more tries. The last time I was there the bartender acted like she'd rather I not be there at all. Well, her wish has come true.
