George's Shoe Repair. This man may not be the fastest, and as all of us, not Perfect...but he has put shoes on my childrens feet, when they were nearly bare. His heart is pure gold, and I am so glad the only true judge wiil be our judge. It's too bad one had a bad experience, but I think it's even more sad that they felt they should try to break a good man down. Walk in their shoes, before you spew ugly. What goes around, truly does come around. I believe George has done a lot more good than not.

if you don't want your shoes, give them to George. He will probably loose your shoes, he lost a good pair of boots of mine. He is across the street my office and so conventient, but after giving him several tries he has either lost my shoes or they aren't done after several trips back. Save yourself the headache, don't go.

How he stays in business is a mystery - that I've cracked.. If you need your shoes fixed in a hurry, like within a month, this isn't your place. If you want to drop them off and eventually they'll be repaired to good-as-new quality, then you should take your shoes here. George is a craftsman to whom quality of workmanship is more important than time, deadlines, or schedules - I think time might be a concept George has evolved beyond; when you go into his shop you enter his strange world of shoes, and the laws of the normal world don't apply here.

True to what the other reviews stated, George does do very good work for a very reasonable price, but give him some time.

He knows how to cobble a sole. "George resoled a pair of Filson Field Boots with Vibram Lugs for $58.00 which i believe to be a fair price. The work was good. I'll probably return in the future but won't enter a specific due date it into my appointment book, because he's simply not into dates and deadlines"

The Last Master Cobbler. George is The Last Master cobbler in Portland. He does great work, but because he is the best and he is 70 he gets over whelmed by all the work. His son helps him at times but he has a problem with too much work not enough time. I have taken my shoes to George for twenty years. NOONE DOES BETTER WORK!!! You can't leave your shoes for 6 months and expect them to be there when you show up. If you are prompt he is prompt. Again a really great shoe repair.

:(. poor george

he's such a nice man but i think he has too many boots to fix. there's a giant pile in the middle of the shop.

i've gone in 4 times. it's been 3 weeks since he promised to have them done and each time they're not done.

i wish he had a helper or something.

poor george

Worst shoe repair service. Shoes took over six months in which time he lost the shoes. After visiting more than six times and calling numerous times, I was finally able to pick them up. DO NOT USE THIS REPAIR SERVICE!

User review by mlbot. My shoes were done 3 weeks late, and only got 1/2 soled when I asked for full sole.

Many excuses were given.
