I got what I came for!!! I wanted to be
a licensed Tattoo Artist... Enrolled in this program, and learned everything (and then some) I need to know to pass my licensing exam. I even have several job
connections now too!
Thanks Captain Jack's!…
Horrible school + horrible tattoo shop. This school is such a joke. A friend of mine recently went there and it was a constant rip-off. The owner takes your money and teaches nothing in return. The students are left to teach each other unsupervised in a room full of worn, broken furniture. and contaminated supplies. The whole atmosphere of the place has a junky, worn down feeling. Unsupervised students learning to tattoo equals contaminated shop. Even the "shop" side has flash from the 90s with junk everywhere. Youll notice everytime someone writes a bad review 2 new "amazing" reviews come up soon after. The state should do the tattoo scene a favor and close this shop down. Its not "grudged" students that writes these reviews its people paying $6000 and learning nothing about tattooing.…
Thanks Captain Jacks!!.
Hey P-Town,
I have to give props when props are deserved, and this place deserves ALL props! I graduated the program & I too, am a ink slinging, LICENSED artist. All the artists and instructors were great and I invested wisely picking this school. At Captain Jacks, man they keep it real and that's what made me successful in the biz!
To the writer below "RandomForward, I can tell by reading your bunk post that you are a grudged student. Dave runs a tight ship, and he should. If you are doing your work, he's your best friend. I had other artists in the studio let me couch surf as I live 2 hours from Portland. these guys all opened their homes up to me, and sean even met with me 1:1 to give me a good polished education and got me over my humps! I Thanks guys!! I have learned the industry and am more successful now than I ever thought possible...
I will keep hitting you all up, and sending my businesss your way!
I got through the program, I got my license and now got my own shop! I got a great foundation to build off too! Thanks to all man!…

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, WE ARE SO GLAD YOU ARE THERE!!!!
IF YOU WANT TO LEARN IT AND LEARN IT RIGHT....THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…
Don't even think of going to school here!.
I wish I could give it -1 star. And I think that a lot of their "reviews" on here were written by shills, or their own employees.
The owner is making money hand over fist and doesn't teach anything. Students use binders full photocopies from commonly available tattoo books and the students who have been there longest teach the students who are new arrivals. Sometimes the employees would "let" the students watch them work, but that was rare. There was no instruction at all, except from other students, little supervision, no text books, no discussion of business aspects or portfolios or getting employment as a tattoo artist. Also, no discussion of art (!), let alone lessons. On top of all of that, the owner is very grouchy and often yells at the students, making for an oppressive environment where everyone is walking on eggshells.
I've come to find out that they have a terrible reputation with other shops and they're known as being a total joke for their tattoo school. This was a huge waste of time and money. Not educational and not fun.…
