Love it!. I truly can not believe some these reviews and some of them are plain old lies! I found the staff very polite. the prices great and the food quite good!

One person said the BBQ pork was cold as ice? Come on... One of the reasons i go there is because they have really good (never any fat) BBQ pork. Discrimination? Talking slang in your face? There is no way thats possibly true. The waitresses are sweet hearts and remember my wife and i by name! Even our other family members that frequent the spot!

I just honestly dont understand how some of you people were able to get yourself to rate a good restaurant so badly. They dont deserve a bad rating.

I will say that it does lack a little class. The place has not been up graded in decades. But i will say that the food has never, not even once left me disappointed

Shame on you to the people giving this place such bad reviews!

BEST old school Chinese in town!. These folks have killer old school Chinese. Best in Town!! I am taling Pork chow mien, pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, fried shrimp, crab cakes, egg flower soup... YESSSSS all with GREAT prices. !!!! You would have to travel 5 hours south to get anything any where near as good as this.

Best Potstickers in Town. The atmosphere may be grim but the pot stickers and General Tso's chicken is the best in town. However, you do have to ask for the hot chili oil or they just bring a soy sauce mixture. Great food though.

Beware of the feathers!!!!. First impression...Floor and tables DIRTY !!! Second...Cold appetizers !!! Third ...The egg flower soup came with a Feather inside..Yes a feather !! When the feather was pointed out by my wife the staff/waitress seemed to appear bothered and disbelieved that our claim was valid. She referred us to her boss and said" I can't do nothing about it." The food smelled good, but ultimately our appetites vanished. So Long Chinese Village.. Clean your act up!

rude and gross food. The food might be cheap since they do have choose any 2 or 3 itemscombo for $5.50 or &6.97 dispite them messing up on my orders numerous of times in the past i thought since it been a while i could try them again my orders was to go always in the past when i would come in there i felt some discrimination but i brushed it off until i went into the restaurant with my family and was treating like dirt we ordered our food and in 4 mins it was brought out to us that should have been a sign i went to dig in and the pork fried rice was so hard and cold and the bbq pork was cold as ice and to top it off when i asked that my food be correctly they got mad grab our plates took them in the back came out again with our same plates and the same bbq pork on my plate that i bit off of come on now what kind of customer service is this the waitress was rude and another chinese lady was a b**** she starts talking her lang in my face and to the waitress which to me was disrespectful because i speak english and i didnt have a word of what she was saying so i asked her why do my rice taste burned i already knew why they took my same food in the back to the cook he heated it up scoop it back on my plate and then brougt it back out i had enough at that point i never have had service like this in my life and too think i was a regular to go customer the chicken was greasy very the food was horrible i wish i did go across the street to macdonalds at least i would have got fresh and hot and not no nasty food what too the cake was there service and how they treating me i will never in life go back to this raggley old gross restaurant

Chinese. Awful food would some up the culinary attributes of this restaurant. I have eaten there three times beacause of convience and never had a good meal. While some of the dishes were alright others were unedible. If you are stuck in the area waiting for the #15 bus like I am sometimes go to McDonald's. The food will be better.

I agree. If you are drunk and/or have your lungs full of smoke or like to do lots of meth, the this grease pit is for you, I have seen people huffing in the bathroom. The food is the worst, I don't drink, but I have heard that you get lots to drink at a reasonable price, but isn't it like saying eat at the liquor store? You can get much better chinese food at 7-11

Perhaps I'm Reiterating. Myself by reviewing this restaurant twice, but I can't help myself. This is the best Chinese food for the dollar (certainly better than Wong's King or other touted Chinese fare throughout Portland), you can ever find. Old-fashioned, and that's the way Chinese food should be. So, it's greasy. So, there's smoke in the restaurant. Go back to California and take your regulations with you. And my wife and I regularly sit in the bar to eat so she can smoke with her meal, and we have never seen any indecency there, except for a few senior citizens overly gambling on the poker machines.

To get back to the food, it's fantastic. The best Egg Foo Young in Portland, the only other restaurant I can compare it to is Hong Chow's in the Moreland area, which has, unfortunately, long since closed. The decor in the restaurant is something to be treasured, not ridiculed. Everything is too bland nowadays, this restaurant stands out, and I shall stand by it. Still the best hot Chinese mustard in town.

CV to go is the way to go. CV is good for take out. I recommend the sweet/sour anything. Hubby like CV fried rice, kids like low mein.

Agree with the observations about the bar patrons. Be brave and order take out.

At 2 A.M. how can you go wrong with tasty "chinese' food at a good price?????. I just happen to live nearby, and being a night owl means that I try to find decent places to satiate that late night food craving. Fast food just doesn't do it for me, so finding a nearby chinese place is like stumbling onto a treasure chest. The food is decent, I know I've already used that word three times, but its the truth. It beats the Fred Meyer deli chinese and is much better than greasy heat lamp burgers or top ramen. The decor is just about silly with the 70's shiny classic chinese 'moving' waterfall scenes and gilded dragons. There is a lounge, but it even sounded too scary for me to venture into. lots of late night stoners and drunks looking for some grub before, or just after last call. What can you really expect in the middle of the night on 82nd???? it's worth a try.
