Better service at Dennys.
Janzten Beach location:
I bought my aunt a gift card for her 60th birthday and was embarrassed to find out that the service was better at Dennys. The waitress did come back to get her order a few times, but then she had to wait 10 minutes for her to return when my aunt finally made her decision. It took 20 minutes for the appetizers to arrive and their coffee cups sat empty for what timed out to be 28 minutes. Roughly an hour and a half later the meals arrived: cold fries to go with fish and chips, dill & rosemary on the coleslaw (??), and luke warm, overly seasoned pork chops. This is absolutely unacceptable. I buy gift cards there frequently for birthday and Christmas gifts and I will cease. I was so humiliated that I had to buy her another gift card at a different establishment to make up for this horrific birthday.
My favorite restaurant in Jantzen Beach.
This is my favorite restaurant in Jantzen Beach. This staff is courteous, you rarely have to wait more than a few minutes to get in, the atmosphere is casual yet upscale and the food is terrific.
The first thing that always gets me when I walk through the front door is the smell of that apple wood fired oven. That always makes me more hungry than I thought it was.
One of my favorites here is the bacon wrapped meatloaf. There's also a full lounge.
It's close to a lot of shopping so it's a great way to take a break without going too far.
A great go-to restaurant. Whenever we can't decide on a new place to try and are hungry Stanfords is one of our go-to places. Our favorite location is Jantzen Beach, we have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. A favorite of ours is their Prime Rib sandwich. They have wonderful fresh salads. We love their martinis as well. Upscale atmoshere with middle of the road prices! If there is ever a wait it's usually very short.
Consistant above average food. Each time the quality of food is constant and the service is good.
My husbsnd and I took a friend to have drinks and dinner. This was Happy Hour and we were asked if we wanted well drinks, We said yes.
Our guest was correctly charged for her drink, $3.50. My drink and my husband's two Manhattans were charged $8.50. We have never been charged that much anywhere, and this was supposed to be happy hour! The server didn't seem to have any explanation.
We decided that we would not be happy eating here, and that we would let our friends and relatives know about our experience.
stoped in for a dinner and woke up with a belly ache.
My girl friend and i stoped in after a day of shoping we were promptly seated by a nice young lady neither of us had been here before and were impressed by the quality fo the aperance of the place.
After we were seated the first thing i noticed was that the table was sticky i am not supper picky so i just wiped it with my napkin instead of makeing a big deal, after about 15 minuts a man showed up that would be our "waiter" it turned out we would be the ones waiting. we had had plenty of time to decide what we wanted so when he asked us what we wanted to drink we both orderd ice tea and before i could get another word that we were reddy to order he was gone. about 10 minuts later he showed up with our ice teas and took our order when it arived i looked great but uppon further reveiw.
I was having halubit fish and chips and my girl friend was haveing a chicken dish. frist bite of my fish i allmoste removed it from my mouth. It had a jelly like concistency and had a teribble fish taste i thought to my self it must just have had a bad part in it but as i continued on it did not get much better the second and third peice were not as squishy but the taste carred through when the waiter finnaly returned to the table to re fill our long since empty tea glasses a asked him if it was halibut like i thought or if i had mistakenly orderd cod or some thing he mutterd out "Uh i dont know ill go ask the cook", he returned several minuts later and informed me that it was halibut and it had never been frozen then left again with no soulution.
Any way to get to the point i was pretty upset with service and food my girlfriends chicken was good but neither of us enjoyed the mouth puckeringly vinigerized cole-slaw or the over cooked rubberized tiger prawn appitizer we shared.
When i woke this morning i was feeling a little under the weather and as my day has caried out i have made several miserable trips to the restroom. I will not be returning to this resturaunt, all you can eat fish and shrimp at a twenty four hour Sharies may be a better option
Service So Bad We Left.
My father was an executive chef. A totalitarian Swedish one. I was practicllay raised in restaurant kitchens and did my time as a dishwasher, busboy, waiter, and cook. So much so that my time now in restaurants is for eating only.
I have eaten at the Jantzen Beach Stanfords many times over the years and was always pleased. The last time about 2 years ago. On 7/23/08 my wife and I had a rare chance to enjoy some fine dining. We arrived at 7:15 noticing the parking lot was full but we were in no hurry and decided to wait the 45 minutes.
After an hour I noticed 3 different couples come in at different times, and in the same age bracket as our 20 something hostesses, and they were seated within minutes. I then questioned my place on the list and informed the surprised hostess of my observations. We were seated in another 10 minutes but the seating hostess wasn't at all hospitable. Although very pretty. Also we passed 6 unused tables as we entered the dining area.
Another 10 minutes at the table and the waiter approached. We gave him our orders and requested water. Shortly the waiter placed 2 empty butter dishes in front of us without a word. But no water. Another 10 minutes no service and no water. After 40 minutes and nothing at all from a service stand point we decided to go home and cook a frozen pizza. After all its now after 9:00 pm.
I forgot my hat at the table and returned for it noticing the table top had the napkins, butter plates, and now a plate of Bacon & Shrimp deviled eggs. But no water.
Now those deviled eggs sure did look good but I can't attest to the taste as I did not sample. I can't speak for Stanford's food quality today but will say that you will be lucky to get any because the service is so, so, so bad. And the table was greasy.
Things change, huh? The pizza wasn't any good either.
Best service, food I've ever had in a restaurant!. This is possibly the best restaurant I've been to in my life in terms of service and food in general. The wait wasn't too bad either.
Nice place on Hayden Island. The food is very good and the service was superb. A very friendly and efficient waitstaff. Foe a steakhouse I was surprised that there was no rack of lamb on the menu, but the steaks are good and some unusual but nice touches are added such as a blue cheese topping. The wine list is very nice, although not award winning. The portions were large and overall it's probably the best restaurant on the island.
great place to eat. Jantzen Beach Stanfords is a great place for a average priced dinner. Service is great, all wait staff are friendly and pleasant. Manager Anthony Grivas always greets the customers with a smile. Salinas Artichoke Dip is great. Best cheeseburger around. Happy Hour Appetizers in the bar are the best--almost a full meal in itself. Get there early to avoid the crowds. Try the cheesebread and the green mints!!!
