Located inside the Red Lion Hotel Jantzen Beach on the Columbian River, the restaurant with romantic views serves an assortment of fresh seafood entrees including Australian lobster tail for $43, Dungeness crab stuffed prawns for $26, and filet mignon and scampi for $41. Locals flock to the restaurant on Sundays for its buffet featuring a crepes station, sushi station, waffle bar and complimentary champagne. Inside the eatery, dim lighting, white tablecloths and a formal atmosphere makes the venue a good choice for business or pleasure.

My mother and I stopped in at the Shenanigans in Jantzen Beach for lunch. We browsed the menu, but agreed that the menu was overpriced. For example, the bowl of cantaloupe was $9.00. We chose the lunch buffet, listed at $10.50. The buffet itself was pathetic to look at, set off to the side of the hallway and completely unattended. A lump of ham sat below a lamp of some kind, supposedly keeping the meat warm but not doing the job. There were about 5 covered trays of food that was lukewarm at best. The burners were not lit, and the food was almost room temperature. We nevertheless decided to try the food and sampled the BBQ ribs, pulled pork, fried chicken, scalloped potatos and 'chef's vegetables.' The ribs were slathered in a sauce that was so spicy, we immediately lunged for our drinks before tossing the rest aside. The rib meat itself was tasteless, it was only the burning hot sauce. Next, the scalloped potatos that I could have made out of a Betty Crocker instant potato kit. The fried chicken was cold and tasteless, and the vegetables were raw and unpalatable. The only dish worth sampling, despite being cold, was the pulled pork but at this point we were both so disgusted, we had shoved our plates away. During all of this, the lone waiter did not once ask us if our food was all right, if we needed more to drink, or mention a thing about our barely touched plates when he cleared them. We went to the counter to pay and asked to speak with the chef who we explained our experience to. He sent the waiter over to the buffet when we mentioned the cold food and he announced the burners weren't on. He apologized, but did not offer to fetch the manager or offer to refund our money. The waiter then brought us our ticket, and they were still charging us $21. We asked why we should have to pay full price when we ate $3 worth of food, and he took $10.50 off the reciept. I don't think we should have had to pay anything for that meal. It was terrible!

First of all, my friend the bday girl left messeges for over a week trying to reserve the VIP area in the dance floor. Finally the night of our event, someone returned her call at 7:30pm. She had already conveyed to them that we had dinner reservations somewhere at 8pm. HELLOOOO??!! They would NOT accept her credit card over the phone to hold the VIP area and demanded that she come down and give them $100 cash if we still wanted the VIP area held. We bagged it and went to dinner. After dinner we went to Tuxedo Charlies where bday wanted to simply touch base with the person whom she spoke to on the phone. The was first refused to be allowed to speak to the manager, then chewed out because she was "clearly instructed" to come and pay $100 cash in person to get the VIP area.....which ended up being double booked that night anyways!!!! After being there for a while, the waitress who took my credit card so I could have an open tab seemed to have disappeared, so we went up to the bar and when the bartender asked what I wanted, I said I was wondering where my card was cause I have a running tab and cannot find the server. The bartender scrunched up her face at me and snapped back, "I aint got your card. I don't know where your card is..." and turned her back to me before I could get a drink order. We were a party of 10 last night and will be advising everyone we know NOT to go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Location and good dance music.
Cons: The waitstaff and service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
