King Burrito, long a neighborhood staple, has been satisfying cravings for greasy, authentic Mexican fare for over a decade. If after something light, opt for the low fat bean burrito, priced pleasingly as well.
Both the cheapest & best burrito I've had in Portland, by far..
I came here for the first time last Friday and had the best burrito I've ever had. Really, ever. I had the Carnita burrito and it totally ruled. The meat was lean had a wonderful texture compared to the tasty beans and fresh guacamole. The seasoning was impeccable. It was only $3.25 and I was really full.
The decor is what I would expect from a hole-in-the-wall burrito place, and it suits me fine. Anyone who complains about any aspect of the decor is in the wrong place and should cart their snooty self over to Taco Del Mar because they are an idiot.
Great Value. Amazing food, amazing prices. Their burrito is a must have. Quick, cheap, and tasty!
ONE OF THE BEST IN NOPO. One of the nest fast food type mexican places. Dig into some chicken or king tacos for $1.25 each or go for one of the HUGE burritos for $3.50. Only downfall is that sometimes the meat can be a little fatty and they don't run any heat in the winter and no A/C in the summer.
Caliente!. This local North Portland dive is our favorite Mexican restaurant to go to. It is cheap and tasty. The decor could use more than a fresh coat of paint and new flooring, but what can you expect from a place with big burros painted on the glass front entry? King Burrito always has a steady flow of traffic (people taking out and eating in). Try the super crunchy tostadas, rice and salsa (more like an ultra fresh pico de gallo). Yum Yum! My only complaint is this place doesn't have margaritas!
Muy value!. We tried King Burrito for the first time this past weekend and had a mixed review. I had the carnitas burrito, which was disappointing. There was too many pieces of fat in the carnitas and it was terribly greasy. However, my hubby had the combo burrito and it was fabulous, very tasty (I tasted it myself). You can not beat the prices here, and the hot sauces are great too. We will definitely go again to try some of the other menu items, but I will steer clear of their carnitas.
Que Sabrosa!. Having emigrated from San Diego 14 years ago, we were desperate for authentic taqueria-style food. King Burrito offers the best -- a dynamite machaca burrito without an ounce of grease in it! Not only all the frontera-style favorites, but the menu offers hamburgers, french fries and hot dogs, too for los ninos. Utilitarian seating and decor are tolerable and the heat wasn't turned on the November evening we went. Still, the great burrito warmed us up from the inside out!
Best bang for your buck!. Delicious and cheap, what else can you ask for. You could easily pay upwards of $10 a person for the same item you can receive at King Burrito for less than $5 bucks (i.e. the chimichanga). But dont overlook they're monster burritos and mouthwatering tacos either. Two thumbs up, way up!
Yummy in your Tummy!. King Burrito is small and easily passed by. But if you happen to wander by and stop in, you will not be disapointed.
