Portland >Exodus Spa
Prepare to be pampered!.
After I messed up making an online reservation, I received several callbacks from the Exodus staff who worked with me to accommodate a convenient appointment time. I was impressed over the phone and became even more impressed once I got there.
The space is mellow and inviting. My mani/pedi was luxuriant and Lene' was great. Esmeralda, the owner, was also there working. I was very pleased with the service from my welcome to my goodbye. This is must try spot for anyone looking for some time away from the everyday.
Great pedicures, manicures, facials and massages.
I've been going to Exodus for about 3 years and have never had anything but a great experience there. The owner, Esmerelda, is wonderful and always welcomes all her customers with warmth and sincerity. Both Seana and Es give great manicures and pedicures - you don't feel rushed and they both work very hard to make sure that you get great service. I've had facials and waxing with Linee and a massage with Regina - all excellent.
This is a comfortable, clean and bright day spa right near the Max line (Prescott St. stop) and just off I-5 in the Overlook neighborhood. Interstate isn't the most glamorous street, but you'll feel far away once inside. They are just really great people and there aren't many places like this in Portland. Give it a try and support this woman-owned business!
outstanding!. I've only had a couple of facials here, but I vow to be come here more often. The couple of times I have gotten a facial were after my face has taken a beating because of too much time in the sun or we've been travelling in places with lots of pollution in the air have taken their toll. Lene's facials always help clear up and rejuvinate my face right away. Everyone at Exodus is super. It's a nice place that doesn't feel overly pretentious nor too "beauty salon" either. I highly recommend them.
Superior Service. I flew from Phoenix to Portland on business and decided to get a pedicure and facial pretty last minute. A colleague recommended Exodus. They fit me in with very short notice and the services were excellent! Seanna was great and gave me the best pedicure I have ever had. My facial was to die for and more relaxing than most massages I have had. I can not recommend Exodus enough. The atmosphere is peaceful and tasteful and the entire staff is friendly. They really give you the feeling they are more than co-workers, they seem like a family. They are extremely professional and efficient, but warm and welcoming also. I will definitely add Exodus to my list of "must do's" the next time I am in Portland!
have recommended the spa to all my friends!!!.
I love our neighborhood spa. I have had a manicure, pedicure, facial and multiple massage appointments.
Friendly people, and a small town feel whenever I come in.
I remember coming one day and seeing more than one man sitting up having a pedicure and they were obviously enjoying themselves very much.
It is just nice to know that people can come in from many walks of life and be pampered and taken care of professionally and kindly. There is a down to earth feel about this spa.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised!!
Dear Exodus Spa--Thanks for taking care of me so well.
Check out this wonderful, cozy neighborhood spa!. For those who need a wonderful spa experience THIS is the place to go. My entire family has partaken of the variety of services at Exodus, kids included! We love the light-hearted atmosphere, the friendly staff and their expertise. Lene's facials are absolutely yummy, and Chris has the magic touch with haircuts and very intuitive with colors and highlights that best feature our kids' faces. We've all enjoyed the personal touch of the pedicures and manicures from Esmeralda and Seanna. Regina's massages are invigorating yet relaxing. If you want to support your local businesses check out this 'hidden gem' of N. Portland. We've already booked our next appointments! :0)
Not precious, just "good in the neighborhood" perfect.. i just googled exodus to get their phone number and came upon this review...it's too bad you had this experience. exodus is my "neighborhood spa" - it's not a chi-chi place, but friendly, comfortable and low key. everyone seems to know one another and there is often a lot of barber-shop style chatting amongst the ladies, which i enjoy. I go for brow waxes (sometimes with my children in tow, we are quickly whisked upstairs and Linea gets the job done fast and well) I think Linea's facials are wonderful, i often give them as gifts to friends and teachers, even my husband is addicted. i always leave with fewer lines on my forehead and stress in my head. she does leave the room for one extended period, to allow your skin deep moisture treatment and your mind and body some relaxation time. i prefer this to the heavy-handed formulaic facials at aveda. i cannot comment on massage - for that, i am loyal to brenda at akasu.
I usually don't write reviews, but have found them helpful from others on city search. I feel bad about this one because it has such glowing reviews, but I had such a bad experience that I felt it should be said.
I went to Exodus on the recommendation of a friend and after reading all the positive reviews here on their spa, I figured it was worth a try. I don't know if all the reviews on city search are from family or close friends of the owner, or maybe they were just having a bad day at the spa... but I know I won't be going back. I understand that Friday afternoons are hard times to be on top of your game, but I don't want to pay high prices for a place that's not on top of it all the time. When you are in the service industry, that's just part of the deal right?
The facilities are nicely done and comfortable, but that was about it. I had a pedicure and a facial and both were horrible. The pedicure was painful and the woman doing it was sloppy and she was unfriendly. She asked a few questions but seemed completely uninterested in the answer... I almost laughed at one point cause she seemed so sullen and depressed. I've had way better pedicures for a lot cheaper. Halfway through my pedicure, the owner left for the day and then everyone else seemed to check out too. Everyone sat down and grabbed their coffee. The woman next to me soaked in the water for 20 min probably, and I could tell she wasn't happy about it. I thought maybe things would get better with the facial. The facial was a joke. She left me alone for 2/3 of the time! It was a 45 min thing and she was with me for just over 16 min... I counted cause she kept leaving me for long periods of time. I've had lots of facials and I find that this isn't normal practice. The massage was painful (which I mentioned to her 3 times) and my skin was way oily afterwards, not refreshed.
Overall, just a unispiring experience. For a place that's priced in the high end, it was very dissapointing.
Best Facial Ever.
I called last minute for a massage, but none were available and I was looking to be pampered. The gal on the phone (who was quite pleasant, by the way) assured me that the "Ultimate Facial" was as relaxing as any massage out there. I was skeptical but went ahead with it.
90 minutes after walking through the spa's front door I was like jelly. The ambiance, technique, and personalized service was so good - I fell asleep during the facial!
Exodus is great - it's clean, personal, and the people are super sweet. The prices are reasonable too!
Personal care at its best!. Aqua Chi has been added to my amazing care. It has made a difference in my outlook on life and my energy level. Try it. You will see a difference!
