Great place to have a private party!. We had our wedding reception at the Buffalo Gap in early December, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The food was terrific (everyone said so), our bartender, Bobby, and server, Kelly, were fantastic, and several of our guests said they wanted to have an event there. The general manager came up just before the reception started to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. And Julie, who does event coordination, took care of all the preparations...we didn't have to think about a thing! The Buffalo Gap definitely exceeded our expectations! Very highly recommended!

Food quality has declined.. I have been going to the Buffalo Gap for breakfast for years and always had good food. The last time I visited, however, my food was average. They now only give you one piece of toast and the food was not hot.

A huge menu of eats, two full bars and live music keeps this venue packed every night.. In Short
Tons of diversions (including video poker, 3 pool tables, free WiFi) and almost 150 better-than-average pub menu items separate this place from other nightspots. For example, their version of the classic Reuben sandwich is a double-decker mammoth with traditional sauerkraut and corned beef, plus a couple of cheeses and a signature sauce (don't ask for the recipe; they won't give it out) piled high on dark rye. Breakfasts are also tasty.

Yuppies to the curb. The Gap is not a see & be scene hang out. This is for normal folk who want to get away from the Il, El, Le, and La's of conceited hangouts. The food is great and the staff go out of their way. I dare you to find a place with as much to choose from. Editorial reviews are for the pretentious. Go stay in the Pearl for that garbage.

Great Watering Hole. Character...character...and character! This is a SALOON BABY! I am from LA and if I want to go have an artistic meal, espensive vino, and 15 people to serve my every need I will go to the London Grill or El Gauchos, but when I want to feel comfortable, catch some good music, lounge around, play some pool, or watch a game this is the place for me. Good people here who will go out of their way, but will toss anyone out onto the street if they are a jack@#!! That's my type of familia!

WELL, IT'S OK.... Not the greatest scene, but a nice place to kick back and relax. They have pool tables and large tables that you can sit at and eat. The service is mediocre and the atmosphere is rather dull, but a great place for a quick bite and drink.

nice nightlife. The service was excellent, and the food was much better than I had expected. The band upstairs, 4th plane Jaiant, was a cross between dave mattews band, peter gabriel, and sting, so undoubtebly i was rather impressed. I would recommend this over most Portland venues!!

Gapfully Mine. I enjoy the feel and the atmosphere that is provided at the Buffalo Gap. It is a fun place to hang out with friends and kick back.

Food BAD, Service WORSE. The pot pie was undercooked and unedible (dough was raw). Salad was served smothered in dressing (even though it was ordered on the side). I would have sent it back but after the waiter threw our food on the table he disappeared. Tried flagging down busboy to send out waiter, twice. Didn't work. After 35 minutes I just wanted out of there, so we went up to the bar to pay our bill. DO NOT GO HERE. I can't stress that enough.
