Terrible sandwich.
I've enjoyed Marco's for about 20 years. A few different owners, but always a good experience. They seem to have had a good sense of what the kitchen can do well. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were
almost always very good.
My last visit though, I tried something something that I just felt like ordering at the moment. Not my usual choice for a sandwich, but what I wanted at the moment. A french dip.
It said premium beef, so I expected something other than thawed deli beef, but that is what it was on soggy hogy bun. The au jus was from a dried mix, and the fries were served as limp as - they were garbage.
It's really not an easy sandwich to do well, but this showed no care in cooking, or service. If a restaurant can't do a dish, or doesn't have an interest in a dish it shouldn't be on the menu. I'm angry.…
One of the best restaurants in Portland!. Marco's is such a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. They strive to be a socially conscious restaurant, and they give back in so many ways. The staff are very nice and helpful. The food is great, and the Sruthi's cardamom tea is fantastic! One of the best breakfast and lunch spots in Portland!…
Great food, worth the wait.. It is no surprise to me that there is frequently a line when I go to Marco’s. Their food is always delicious and well priced and I always have great service. They have terrific daily specials and a regular menu with lots of different types of foods to choose from (oh and they make fantastic daily breads too). I love that you can get any dish at any time, my favorites are their omelettes and blintzes. Marco’s also does a lot of good for the community, both in the responsible sources of it’s food/energy and by providing food to charities.…

best breakfast grub in town.. My wife and I go weekly for breakfast and sometimes dinner. Rotating specials keep the menu interesting. The wait staff are great and know us now. Watch out at breakfast time because it is a very popular place. come early or late to avoid the wait.…
